'The Brave One' announced PLUS news on COMBO pricing

Warner announce The Brave One on HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc for 5th of February next year:

http://dvd.themanroom.com/dvd-newsview.php?id=795

Note the msrp of $35.99 for both formats, despite the HD DVD being a combo.

The msrp of most past Warner new title releases has been $34.99 for the BD, and $39.99 for combo HD DVDs.

If this news is correct, it looks like the BDs have gone up by $1 and the HD DVD combos have come down by $4.

I actually think the pricing change began with the release of Ocean's Thirteen.

But I haven't seen any reduction in import prices. Combo discs, whether Uni or Warner, all seem to be stuck at the £18 mark at Movietyme.

There is still a price difference on Amazon.com for Oceans 13 - the Blu-ray being slightly cheaper. I prefer combis though (I find the DVD side useful for legacy kit) so picked up the HD DVD.

This was the rumour being circulated a few months back - no idea how correct it was/is but it could be the current discs were pressed before that policy was implemented.

I think it was just a rumour.

I can't find the link, but I'm pretty sure Warner scotched it about a week later.
