OMG,

Whilst browsing through all discs on Movietyme I stumbled across this-

I loved this film and even though it's a german import I can't wait to get my hands on it.

I just picked this up on SD DVD, I was lent the book by a girlfriend at college and really enjoyed it.

It was one of those books that stuck in my mind, so I'm looking forward to watching the film at Xmas.

I expect given the setting it will look great in HD.

I got this on HD-DVD a few months ago and enjoyed it.

Unfortunately the English subtitles don't extend to the extra's

but otherwise it's fine. I don't understand why they haven't given us a UK version by now.

But there is English subs on the main feature?

According to various sources it only has German subtitles.

Those sources are incorrect as I watched the German HD-DVD and enjoyed it (a friend in Germany actually bought the disc over at my request as I spotted it released in Germany about the same week it was released theatrically over here) - and I can't speak a word of German. Maybe it was in English and so subtitles weren't necessary? If you need me to check this let me know.

I DO remember being disappointed that the extra's were only understandable in English when the main actor spoke and that no subtitles were available for the bulk of the "Making of".

The movie is in English for sure, but I'm not sure about the subtitles. If you could check if there is English subtitles on the release, it would be great!

My bad! The subtitles are only available in German (as are the wretched menus). I was getting confused because, as you point out, the film itself is in English (and of course the German subtitles can be turned off).

I just picked this up in Barcelona for $16 at a Metro station, this is the Spanish version. I cannot play it yet as I am waithing for Play to send me a HD player to watch it on.
