Re: bram stoker on BR

I really love this film and have the Supebit version.
I wanted this on BR but all the reviews (and people on here) said it was no better than the SD DVD version.
So I passed on it.

Now this review comes out and so I'm going to get it.

So I ask this question, Why did all the earlier reviews say the BR was no better than the DVD version?

It depends if they focus on the transfer or a comparison to some Caribbean beach video. With old movies I'm not expecting pin sharp crystal clear video, I'm just looking for a competent transfer with no compression artefacts, excessive noise reduction or EE. In most cases I already know the film very well and I'm looking forward to seeing it restored back to it's cinematic glory.

Re: bram stoker on BR

I must add that I have close to 60 HD films some of which had not very good reviews.

But every disc I have got was much better than the DVD counterpart no matter what the review said.

Re: bram stoker on BR

I watched it today and it was a great picture, i love the film and have every dvd and vhs release and this blu-ray knocked spots off the lot, detail in the castle in the dark etc was superb, seeing parts of the sets that i have never noticed before, also as a package there are great special features, if you are a fan of this film then you must buy this release
