Re: Band of Brothers HDDVD

Can you provide a link to somewhere that would supply this to the UK?

Is it in English?

Still kind of expensive. £50 would be most i would pay. It would be good to see in HD but not that good.

I would never feel comfortable paying that sort of money for a show. £30 is the most I'd pay.

dunno, I'd never buy any tv shows, but BOB is kinda of special. Saying that price will be a factor.

£100!

Absolutely no chance. Thats £10 per hour of viewing. I know BOB is an excellent TV show but still, thats pushing it a bit. (well a lot!)

Movietyme is charging a premium for this, however at least they do not use the special 'Amazon/internet' currency convertor ie $1 = £1!

I cannot see the point in buying this in HD, it was filmed to look grainy, so I guess you will be watching grain in spectacular detail!

Re: Band of Brothers HDDVD

Watched this on the Japanese HD edition for the first time last night (I've got episodes 1 & 2 only), and thought it was considerably better than the R1 SD version. Detail especially in backgrounds was fantastic, and I noticed things i hadn't seen before. Best of all was the sound - it plays in DTS_HD Hi Res., and the surround steering was simply wonderful - like watching it again for the first time. I'll be therefore buying the others too.

Yeah, I'd buy it, if it was free too...

Saw the SD version for silly money in HMV the other day, thought I'd read it was coming out in HD but after seeing the price , I wish I'd got the SD box set now....

Have you seen 300? My thinking is that I would like to own it and I'd like to own it in the best version around. I haven't spent all that money on two different formats, a HD TV and a new amp just so I can still have standard definition. Even if the PQ wasn't much better hopefully the sound quality would be and BOB is full of explosions.

While the HD-DVD's are expensive you cant really compare the price as the original BoB DVD Boxset when released was around £50
