Need a list of all HD-DVD regions

I'm trying to find a list of all HD-DVD's similar to this for blu-ray.

Can anyone help please? There's a few UK ones I want and not sure if I can use them on my A1.

Re: Need a list of all HD-DVD regions

HD DVD is region free so there is no list.

Any region disc will work on any region player.

Yes, there is currently no region coding on HD DVD's at all.

Re: Need a list of all HD-DVD regions

Is there a reason why blu-ray has region coding but hd dvd doesn't? Sorry for the random question, just made me think

Re: Need a list of all HD-DVD regions

I don't know the exact reasons behind it but suspect it is financial on the part of the Blu Ray Alliance.

I'm sure a better informed member will be able to explain it all in great detail.

The only thing I know is what I read in an interview with a HD DVD bigwig.

I can't remember word-for-word, but at one of the early meetings all the interested studios (pretty much everyone at that stage) sat round a table. They voted for whether or not they wanted RC and the majority didn't. Disney & Fox did, so stood up and walked out.

This really doesn't effect the US too much. The vast majority of titles are released there anyway )often first), and most that are released in Europe only don't have RC, so the Americans can get them.

It's a move purely against the interests of anyone outside the USA's Region A.

Does this not mean that normal DVD's will one day have no region encoding, or is that never going to happen to SD dvds?

Re: Need a list of all HD-DVD regions

It's effectively here already.

Walk into Richer Sounds and it's difficult to find an SD DVD player that hasn't been 'modded'.

The CE manufacturers appear to make little complaint and, as far as I can tell, semi-openly complicit with providing the hacks.
