Question Major HD Movie Releases question

Do you think before 2008 we'll see some of the major movie franchises coming to BR or HDDVD such as India Jones, Star Wars (Knowing Lucas that's probably another couple of years off) Alien Saga, Jurassic Park, etc?

Anyone got any info?

Cheers

Re: Major HD Movie Releases question

I've not heard anything about an imminent release for those titles. I would very much doubt we'll see any of them before 2008, let alone in 2008. However maybe an Indiana Jones boxset when the fourth film comes out?

Depends what you consider major, Cars and Ratatouille will be released in November, Die Hard 4.0 could be out before Christmas.

It was revealed Fox are working on the new Fantastic Four movie, so you would assume Die Hard is also in the worls.

I'm positive we'll see some greats released. Whether that'll include any of those on your list is another thing.

I would imagine 'Alien' and 'Jurassic Park' are most likely from those.

I think it's quite unlikely personally - how long did we have to wait for the major movies to arrive on DVD? If the new formats can match the adoption timescale of DVD, something I seriously doubt, then it will be around 2010 before we start to see them.

Alien Saga
Notwithstanding my comments above I should imagine Alien may come sooner rather than later. As Fox have demonstrated (before they stopped all releases) they are happy to recycle their DVHS lineup - as Alien is all ready to go then it seems logical it will arrive sooner rather than later. I suspect the rest of the saga is a very long way off though.
