hd quality?

im considering getting an hd-dvd player, and a blu-ray player, but what i want to know is, are there any films that u have thought are not really great quality?
im not sure if i want to replace 300 dvds for something that isnt better, obviously modern films will look good.

if u can put down films u dont think were that great for quality, dont put films that u just didnt like.
same with films that are good quality, dont add the film just because its a film u enjoy.

cheers.
