Hi

I loved this film and have been looking everywhere for it on Blu Ray- can only find it on HD. Anyone know if it's available or going to be released?

No, that was the point of the discussion, BB will be released whether PIP is ready or not later this year, Matrix will be held back untill PIP is ready.


'Batman Begins will be released on Blu-ray on a BD50 in the 4th Quarter of 2007. It will have a new 5.1 PCM track in addition to the TrueHD track. It is not known yet if WB will redo the VC-1 transfer and up the bitrate as that comapred to the HD-DVD version.'

I would wait for an announcement by the studio, the latest title I was interested in I was told there would be a new 5.1 PCM track in addition to the TrueHD track, which excited me. The reality was it was an error, until the studio announces something this is all 'speculation on the internet and / or forums'. A release for christmas does seem a possiblity however but that studio has allot of catching upto do wrt these 'missing' titles and they won't all come at once and when we want them.

Has there been anything official announced though? Whilst it is not beyond the realms of possibility that it might be seen on Blu Ray this year, as others have said - until anything official is announced I wouldn't hold my breath.

It is one of those titles where I could see the Blu Ray camp not wanting a perceived inferior version (without the IME) on their format.

'Official' as in it will be out this year, that's as far as they've gone.

The latest date is from a Warner rep, take it or leave it.

Warner have already released Blood Diamond and soon 300 without IME on Blu-ray, Matrix seems to be the only title were they won't compromise.

So where did you get the info on there being a new PCM track etc, is this official or speculation?

i watched this today on hd, i noticed loads more of detail than in the sd dvd, things like seeing batman hiding in the shadows in some scenes, great movie

Thats what HD is for, bringing out the detail that was hidden on SD-DVD.

What a pain for BD.

It gets an HD DVD-only release, with the Blu-ray Disc held back so it can include PinP, then they release it on BD without PinP?

In other words BD gets it a year late for...no reason at all.

And what's the betting that, just after it's released, PinP will arrive.

On AVS from a Warner rep, Superman Returns will also be re-released with a PCM track. In fact it's already available as part of a Panasonic bundle package.

Someone told me this was a 'special one off' for a bundles, he said to be included with Pioneer players, and not available separately, anyone know?

Over on AVS they are saying it will replace the current version out on the shelves.

I don't know which is right all I know is it will be available in the bundle then put on the shelves.
