POTC Dead Man's Chest - Sub localization

Hi there,

I put this in last night at low-moderate levels and right at the beginning after the Disney logo, I noticed about 3 or 4 huge bass drops that shocked me into replaying it a couple of times. The problem was that I noticed the bass was very directional i.e. coming from the front left corner of the room where my Paradigm sub's located. It's the first time ever that I was able to pinpoint exactly where the bass was coming from. As you might understand, this left me a little shaken thinking have I setup my audio wrong somewhere?

The bass was rattling something nearby which I suppose made it even more obvious, but I couldn't put my finger on the culprit. Has anyone else experienced this, measured the frequency or could take an educated guess as to what frequency range has been used here? All my speakers are set to small, x-over to 80HZ, audio out: uncompressed LPCM.

Mods, I couldn't decide where this should go so do feel free to move it to the sub forum if this is inappropriate.

The bass drops sound like a heart beating.

The SD version was the same. I don't have BD disc but can confirm that every time Davey Jones' ship appeared, my cat left the room...

but thats what it supposed to be , the heart beating is davey jones heart.

What sub are you using and whereabouts in the room do you have it? Apart from frightening the cat to death lol, did you notice anything unusual about the bass, that is, was it obvious that it was coming from the sub?

Yes, thanks for clarifying that it is a heart beating, I don't suppose you could confirm whether you noticed anything unusual about it?
