Daylight & Born On The 4th Of July

Daylight & Born On The 4th Of July arrived yesterday from MT!
Both look & sound great, only glimpsed 4th Of July! Daylight I had to watch right away & was not dissapionted, did a compare with my R1 dts release & the difference was a revelation between the 2 versions!
The HD release is a revalation and I hope they future releases keep coming as great as the HD-DVD release!

Re: Daylight & Born On The 4th Of July

Just finished watching Born On The 4th Of July, looks beautiful! clean, crisp, clear with nice vibrant colours.
Really good job for a catalouge title, just makes me even more ready to buy more HD-DVD older films even though I have them on SD-DVD.

I watched the fan scene on Daylight when it turned up, sounded pretty good, the image is pretty much what I expected it to be, good but not amazing.

Until you actually watch the older DVD's to compare it is hard to judge I have found. For instance the Rambo trilogy on HDDVD may not look that great on first viewing, but stick in the old sdDVDs and the difference is astounding

Re: Daylight & Born On The 4th Of July

I'm really interested on Born On The 4th Of July. It's my favourite Stone film(and on of mine) and really want to know how good the image and sound looks. How does the John Williams soundtrack sound and how good do the blue eyes of Tom stand out(i think his eyes are actually green but in this movie he's given the nickname blue eyes-which i couldn't notice on previous editions)

I check it against the R1 special edition(last release) very clean sharp image, great colours & crisp clear surround.
