300 HD-DVD and BD Specs.

The specs. for the HD releases of 300 are now up: -

There's a few more extras on the HD-DVD, and it's a combo.

Looking forward to this one in HD

Well it looks like the HD DVD version for me, if just for this,

Unless I am missing something on that page, the specs really aren't there....just an idea of content.

Nothing about video codec or audio options, which is what many want to see.

So it seems in terms if PQ and AQ there should be minimal differences, it will come down to the content.

Re: 300 HD-DVD and BD Specs.

It doesn't realy make sense. If they're including PiP/IME features on the HD-DVD version and not the BD then why couldn't they have done the same thing for The Matrix?

Re: 300 HD-DVD and BD Specs.

Totally agree

I want the Matrix Ultimate on BD as dont want the double sided discs.

On a very minor point the red HD DVD boxes work better than the blue BD ones.

Looks good. Looking forward to the bluescreen version. That should be very interesting.

Re: 300 HD-DVD and BD Specs.

If I had both formats I would buy Blu-ray but since I only have HD-DVD I won't be buying it at all (well the US release), I have no interest in a single disk combo.

Even though the HD DVD version is offering IME? Or do the extras not interest you?

I'm one of those who love extras but I'm not buying a combo both in terms of the premium price thanks to the enforced SD version and a total lack of faith in the robustness of the combo format.
If the UK HD-DVD is a pure HD-DVD then I'll buy that otherwise the movie will not be part of my HD collection at least not in retail format.

Fair enough mate. I'm one of those that actually likes the combo format, so it looks the HD DVD will be a no brainer for me.

Re: 300 HD-DVD and BD Specs.

I really like the combos because I dont have HD at the moment so it saves me having to re-buy discs, in fact I will only buy discs now if they are combos otherwise it can wait a year till I upgrade.
