there are some with cherry blossom, mount fuji, that sort of thing.

edit: link to example

Anyone desparate enough for some HD content that they bought one? I'm wondering what the picture quality is like, because the cherry blossom one is the sort of thing the missus would like.

The DTheatre ones were very 'relaxing' and high quality.

Re: anyone bought Japanese bluray 'scenery' discs?

Ive seen a couple of HD DVDs like that. (some of the first ones that came out and still used the older DVD boxes rather than the ones we are used to seeing now for both formats)

I havent seen any for Blu ray as most blu rays out in japan are fairly new movies (and some older WB films too)

I cant honestly reccomend Jp HD DVDs or Blu Rays due to the massive costs. One disc (on either format) will set you back 5000 yen ($50)

I bought a few Jp discs like "Ghost in the Shell" (wasnt out anywhere else at the time) and ended up paying 7000 yen!
