Good ol' Burt in Smokey and the Bandit

Well, the latest batch of HD DVDs arrived yesterday and given I was tired and not going out on a Friday night (that's for tonight, in theory) I decided to revisit the old favorite Smokey and the Bandit.

It's been a while seen I last actualy saw it last, and I have to say that while the PQ isn't as good as some other old classics (Bullitt, Casablanca) most of the minor problems are clearly with the source material. The sound is clear and bright while no major reworking appears to have been done to use surround much.

Overall an excellent waste of 90 minutes and the HD edition does it quite well. I can recommend it...
