Casino Royale - Blu-Ray review on AVPlay

Aah Mr Bond, how tight those shorts are.

The excellent Casino Royale on Blu-ray now reviewed at AVPlay.
Another quality review by Chris McEneany.

Looks like being a must buy for Blu-ray Bond fans!

Re: Casino Royale - Blu-Ray review on AVPlay

do you get the idea he quite likes the movie?

Still, good to see he finds the disc generally accurate to the FIVE times he saw it at the cinema

Looking forward to testing mine out once I get my screen up

Re: Casino Royale - Blu-Ray review on AVPlay

I dunno, I thought the movie was fantastic, best bond movie in donkeys years. But the picture felt a little grainy to me.

Some scenes were fabulous, but others didn't look hi-def to me. The scene at the restaurant for one, near the end, just before she gets kidnapped. I thought it just didn't look or feel like it was running at 1080i on my setup. Other scenes were great, like the introduction of the Aston DBS, that looked stunning, and so did the poker scenes. The intro sequence also looked fabulous. But a lot of the movie picture quality didn't cut it for me, especially when comparing it to Superman Returns and Batman Begins on HD-DVD.
