HD DVD films on there way

Just wanted to post saying i've ordered my first HD-DVD's from movietyme and i'm really looking forward to getting 'em!

I ordered:

Corpse Bride
The Thing
Phantom of the Opera (For the missus)

I've got to pick up a HD DVD add-on for the 360 so here's hoping (against hope) that the ones in Game have King Kong bundled.

£42.97 for all three. £12.99 for Phantom and £14.99 for the other two. Not bad all in all. Less than I paid for my first DVD's when they came out!

Because of the CG or just the type of film do you think?

Ive not watched it yet mate .
Ive already seen the film at the cinema but would like to see it in HD im trying to save it for the weekend . I always like to watch a good one on a Saturday night

Its the only film ive seen that I fancy in HD at the moment , I really dont want to get into that buying films ive already seen just for the sake of it I did all that with DVD , or buying some load of c..p like Fast and furious (my Opinion ) just because its supposed to be great in HD.

LOTR will be a definete apart from that ill just wait Casino Royal , Pans Labyrinth and The Prestige will be my next ones.

I must say though Mickle I like your choices mate , Love The Thing still remember watching that for the first time on our Massive VHS video scared me sh..less as a kid lol and Corpse Bride was great too.

I think you'll be extremely lucky to find one on the high street now that has KK bundled i'm afraid! Unless you go the eBay route but then you'll pay a higher price of course. Why not try Argos, they are only £119 and you might be able to pick up a 2nd hand copy of KK for a tenner!

yeah I thought I may not be able to. A Gamestation near me has ones with KK but I have some money on a Game giftcard so i'll have to get it from there instead Still, i'll be keeping 'em peeled for cheap KK discs on eBay

Hmm I know what you mean about being selective when buying films on HD. I went a bit mad on DVD and don't want to build up a collection of rubbishy DVDs again (The Fast and the Furious i'm looking at you).

Glad you like the choices. I haven't seen The Thing for YEARS and it was one of the first films I ever saw as a child (goold old Dad!) so i'm really looking forward to that one. Corpse Bride was a good film (I loved the Nightmare Before Christmas too) and is supposed to be a bit of a tour de force for HD video so that'll be good as a reference disc and Phantom was something I was going to pick up for the GF on DVD anyway so I thought it'd be a good 'n to pick up.
