Terminator 2 - HD DVD

Anybody know where I can get hold of this? (not including amazon.fr - they don't accept my card, the swines)

It's one of the best films ever made and I can't wait to watch it on HD DVD

Re: Terminator 2 - HD DVD

In the US yes, but in Europe the distribution is handled by HD DVD supporting partners.

I heard it gets a UK release in Q3 so you may want to wait?

Re: Terminator 2 - HD DVD

The French HD-DVD release should be sometime in the next couple of weeks which will mean movietyme should be stocking it as well.

I will be going for the French release as i have all the rambo films and total recall as well, The plus point on the HD-DVD french release from studio canal is that it will more than likely have a DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack.

Re: Terminator 2 - HD DVD

Bit of confusion it would seem.
According to amazon.fr the release is on the 5th March.
According to fnac.com the release is on the 26th March

I was going to buy this on Blu-ray on a recent holiday, but it was only the theatrical version, not the extended one

Re: Terminator 2 - HD DVD

Cool. So pleased it's being released on HD-DVD over here

Terminator 2 is my favourite of the 3 and i'm sure the HD-DVD version will be a much better transfer than the rushed Blu-Ray version

T2 on Blu-ray gets quite a bit of stick for it's picture which I don't think is that bad at all. It's a lot better than the Extreme Edition.

What makes you say it was rushed ?

I hope the HD-DVD version does look better than the Blu-ray version, it wasn't the case with "First Blood" however which apparently looks and sounds better. My First Blood BD turned up today so I will see for myself.

Re: Terminator 2 - HD DVD

I watched T2 Extreme edition on my HD-A1 recently, it was without doubt, the best upscaled SD film I have seen on my player. That said, I haven't too many R1 films! Very good pic though Just ordered T2 HDDVD from amazon.fr, I'll let you know how it compares.

Only the Japanese Amazon site provides that option.
For the German and French Amazon sites, get out yer dictionary

Or alternatively use one of the translation tool sites and paste in the URL of the page you want translated.

I dont know French, but I am familiar enough with the set up on amazon to know how to navigate the french site. Try http://www.babelfish.altavista.com/ for translation

If we are just talking about picture quality I can't really say atm, I read a review saying it was better and thought I'd give it a try. I have it on HD-DVD and I watched bits of it about 2 weeks ago (when I still had my 360 add-on) I thought the image was OK but lacking in some area's. I watched bits of the BD version 2 days ago and I thought it looked better but obviously I'm going off memory.
When my XE1 turns up I'll compare and keep the better of the two, BD has an advantage as an overall purchase with more sound option and extra's.

Do movietyme stock French HD DVD's?

I can't find any on their site.

Anybody confirm this?

So.. instead of ordering from an American site (and having it fly around the world twice) do Amazon france ship to the UK? What about a UK release, is that happening?
