i make an absolute mint at my workplace selling copied porn on dvd.
and shop bought porn costs around £25 a disc and Vivid , Private and other big porn studios aren't exactly short of a few quid.

There is a good argument to be had arguing that high def porn will not effect the war - but it could also have a massive effect - it is after all a multi-million pound industry. It could also be argued that this whole 'porn industry backs HD DVD' is merely a symptom of the cheaper production costs of HD DVD versus the more limited facilities of BluRay.

Interesting figures - I wonder why the internet accounts for less? As I speculated above perhaps one reason is because people are nervous about giving their credit card numbers to online porn companies? Perhaps concerns over spyware/malware/viruses are also factors?

I agree, tbh I don't think it lends itself well to high def, especially the close ups. (which I have seen on a high def DVD) which 'in your face' is not pleasant viewing.

The actors' in these films are not the prettiset in the world by a long way.

I think you would find that most peeps that buy porn (on DVD anyway), would disagree.

I like the Star Wars films, I want them in HD.

I like the odd one or 2 porn starlets, having the likes of Devon/Lacy Heart etc etc in HD would be a real bonus

For a start I'm happy with porn in SD, I def. DO NOT want to see porn in HD. I'm mean come on, I don't want to see Ron Jeremy doing his stuff in high definition.

The adult industry is worth alot though, Sony refusing to let them use BR-DVD could well break that format and make HD-DVD the winner.

Didn't the same thing happen with VHS and Betamax - the adult industry chose VHS over Betamax.
