Thanks for posting this, it just confirms my suspicions. They've no interest in retaining loyal members.
I'm a long time subscriber & I do get top priority new titles fairly quickly, I had Tinker Tailor within a week of it's release. If you continue to not getting any high priority titles sent to you, complain it's the best way to get results.

Maybe then it's just me. Maybe your right, maybe a complaint flags up something on their database to allocate you recent titles.

I have been with Lovefilm for a couple of years and a year back i changed to PAYG.

I am interested in streaming but this is not available on PAYG.

I have had a look at upgrading my account but don't want to shell out for it.

Streaming only is £5 per month which I would be happy to sign up for , but I don't think it can be bolted on to my PAYG account which seems a bit of a pain.

All bluray and last week I got Drive and something on my medium priority but I did only have Drive set as high.

Quick complaint to them like above won't hurt ,perhaps tell them if things don't improve Im off to Blockbuster or Netflix!

Just got an email advising my latest two despatched. One was possibly on my Priority list, one definitely wasn't. I'm going to take a print of my current list and if it happens again, complain.

It would be a shame if they go the same way as many other companies and concentrate on satisfying new members at the expense of older ones.

I've been with Lf for years starting when it was Amazon before they sold that service to Lovefilm (I know Amazon have bought them back).

And their envelopes are crap compared to the design Amazon used. Grrr...

I have been on PAYG and have had a sterling service.

Who else is PAYG ?

I wonder if its a subset of the regular subscribers who feel they are getting short shift. Are any PAYGers complaining ?

I am considering upgrading my account to allow streaming (I know it isnt HD currently, and barely SD, would only use it on my iPad) but i don't want my disc rental service to deteriorate.

I have seen a report that Blockbuster UK will be rolling out a streaming service this year but I doubt it would be good value for money.

I'm on Payg. It's great. I've had many new releases within the first few weeks. I have no complaints.

Found this interesting. Considering Amazon Prime in the US, I think it's quite possible they'll scrap the Lovefilm brand altogether.

I don't know how the Lovefilm subscription streaming catalogue compares, but the Amazon Prime US 2010+ titles are pretty unremarkable, puts US Netflix in a better light and probably even UK Netflix.

I wish they would update DVDs when newer, better versions come out. At the minute it seems somewhat of a lottery which version you get, and the releasing studio information on the site isn't always accurate. I tend to watch a lot of cult films and it's frustrating to know there are new pristine widescreen editions of movies released by the likes of Arrow/Shameless, but Lovefilm still peddle the crappy Vipco or Hollywood discs complete with fullscreen sub VHS quality that have been out for years.

Item on Lf on BBC R4 You & Yours now, mainly on some titles/studios not being available for rental or streaming.

They're a bit late on covering that, did they have anything of note to say?

I see Warner appear to be delaying the ability to reserve their titles on your rental list until the rental period begins on Lovefilm now (as they have done on Netflix US).

Sure I read the other day that in the case of NetFlix US your looking at a 56 day delay for Warner Bro's titles. It's going up from the original 28 day's.

Not really. Brought in some pundit who said the studios and service providers need to get their acts together. For a handsome fee I could have told them that meself

And a year earlier too, maybe we should submit a follow-up report.

I think my time with Lovefilm is coming to an end. They just aren't doing enough to upgrade their stock, it seems as long as they have the film in the database, no matter how crappy a release it is, then that suits them fine. Just been stung again with a couple of releases. Rented Red Scorpion in the hope I might get the new widescreen uncut Arrow DVD, but instead I get the naff edited 4:3 release from years ago. Same with Martin, not the Arrow widescreen DVD they advertise, but the ancient Freemantle disc. They need to appreciate that it's not only the film people want, but they want it in the best possible quality and with extras if they are available. Ironically all these new versions are out there on Blu Ray available to rent but if you are a DVD subscriber they are happy to stiff you with out of date releases. Tried to e-mail them to raise the point and even gave them a list of films that were in need of review but it was a waste of time, their response couldn't have been more generic and irrelevant to the question if they had tried.

I've now moved back to Lovefilm from Blockbuster. Turnround times got terrible, I was on 3 unlimited and was lucky to get 3-4 discs per week, they have a terrible bluray stock, no chance of getting a new release within the first 6 months of release usually and they NEVER answer emails.

Just got Fright Night posted out. I believe that came out this week? I've been with them 3+ years; excellent service once again.

I wonder if Ps Vita games will soon be available to rent?

One more thing I love about lovefilm is the inclusion of games rentals on both portable and home consoles.

Did a ps3 update for lovefilm
Got the option for higher quality, was this always an option on random films or something new to take on Netflix?
It's not bad quality, like upscaled DVD

Wink online

Hey. i got lovefilm. its working fine. But why everybody uses the dvd posting thing? they have online streaming as well and u can connect it with your tv so easy of if u got xbox or what ever its even better. i dont see the point of waiting for dvds if i can stream it straigt away and put it on my tv. Ok some of the movies is only on dvd which are from 1950 for example. But who watching that?:D

Basically it is but in the U.S Amazon Prime membership gives you access to Amazon on demand as well, mostly older titles for free and pay per rent newer releases a la itunes. All in SD only though as far as I'm aware.

I've tried another few and I got the choose of high quality on the PS3 so hopefully this new option is available for most films.
Quite happy with the pic quality!

Definitely much better picture quality but the sound is still not 5.1 which is very disappointing

I know when I went to cancel my Lovefilm instant subscription recently one of the options that comes up for reason given for leaving is "Picture Quality not good enough" so perhaps they've had quite a few people like myself give that reason and are slowly taking the hint!

I can no longer access the ps3 lovefilm app after changing my DNS settings for Netflix.

Is anyone else having this problem.. or do I have to reset my settings everytime I use love film?

I presume you changed them to access the US Netflix? You'll have to set them back to use Lovefilm.

I'm not sure whether to stick with Lovefilm or cancel (have only been with them for about a month). I signed up mainly to get game rentals but don;t really have that much time to play games so they tend to just sit there and I have to say that I haven't used the streaming because even though it's now much better quality it's still not 5.1 sound

Was thinking of either reducing to a single game rental and no streaming and then get Netflix or just can the whole thing

Is Netflix much better quality with 5.1 sound? I'd definitely stay with Lovefilm with they improved their streaming...I think.
