Thanks Simon. I love most of Coppola's 70's and 80's output. Plus you can't have too much Diane Lane in hi-def.
Cheers

blu-ray.com gave the PQ a total slating, but that probably says more about them than about the release. Their reviews are unreliable and often are a joke.

Rumble Fish Blu-ray (United Kingdom)
That review complains of edge-enhancement "patterns", not a term I've heard before.

I just read it. Didn't think it was half as bad as they made it out to be. Certainly not enough to spoil your enjoyment of the movie.

Wow, yes, the beautiful Diane Lane. Even thirty years ago she was breaking hearts!

Yes... I remember her from "The Outsiders" too.

"Rumble Fish" sure looks pretty good (flaws and all). Added to my Amazon haul. ! Thanks for the review Cas !

pity The Outsiders has been so butchered by Coppola and he didn't bother giving you the option to view the original version (probably advice from his mate, George). The original was fine - decent film.

Agreed. Although I don't hate the newer complete version as much as you do, the original version SHOULD be available as well.

Lookin' forward to seeing Diane Lane in "Man Of Steel" though.

Sorry I know its off topic, the worse thing is Carmine Coppola's score is pretty much gone from the complete version, I really liked it.. what he replaced it with was poor and didn't fit...

Kinda related in a "not so related" kinda way... "KILLSHOT" a thriller based on Elmore Leonard's novel and starring a reunited Diane Lane and Mickey Rourke was released today. To see these two great actors (only 30 years later!) it is a flawed film but quite interesting and even flawed Rourke and Lane is better than most.

Can't wait to get my mits on the RUMBLE FISH steelbook.

Killshot [DVD]: Amazon.co.uk: Diane Lane, Mickey Rourke, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Rosario Dawson, Thomas Jane, John Madden: Film & TV

Amazon.co.uk: killshot
