Given that, with a delivery service like Yodel, the majority of the packages in that bag would have been breakable or at least damaged easily, he really shouldn't have treated the post like that.
That's bang out of order.

I'm still waiting for my two BDs which were sent last Wednesday, one of which is a steelbook. If that arrives "vacuum sealed" then I will not be using HMV for future orders as that is unacceptable. I've already had one steelbook from them sent in a jiffy bag but I knew about it, thanks to these forums,[B] so was able to place a cushion under my letterbox which prevented it from being damaged.
It seems stupid now that I've read it, but I've never thought to do that I can't complain because I've not had too many steelbooks damaged when delivered, but I will definitely try it out in future and minimise any damage at all! What that doesn't stop, however, is the damages that occur during transit - if only we could find a way to put a cushion under the package the whole way!

HMV will go back to normal once they have finished their moving warehouse thing at the end of July (hopefully).

Yes. They've obviously had a lot of complaints about the vacuum bags that had no protection at all and this week shifted to thin bubble-wrapped envelopes which really aren't much better. Roll on things getting back to normal. I'm used to getting new releases the Friday before release not the Tuesday after.

I've just checked my pre-orders and I don't have anything else coming from HMV until mid-August so hopefully they'll be back to using their cardboard packaging and faster delivery by then.

My Yodel tale.

My first experience of these chimps was a few years ago when The Beatles 'Help' was released on DVD there was a very pricey (£65), large format, boxed collector's edition released which I decided to treat myself to.

Arrived home from work that day to find a card from Yodel (then HDN) saying your parcel is in your back garden. My heart sank. Firstly there is no access for outsiders to the back of my house as there is a 9 foot wall with a locked door, which meant he had to have thrown it over the wall. Secondly, that day had been non-stop torrential (and I do mean torrential) rain from before 8am when I left for work and it had carried on non-stop right through the day and was still bucketing down when I returned home at 6pm-ish.

The shaved ape from Yodel had not only thrown a package wrapped only in corrugated cardboard over a 9ft high wall on to a paving stone path, but had also done so during a torrential rainstorm. I went outiside to find a sodden, pulpy mess which literally fell to pieces in my hands as I lifted it.

The term "moron" does not even begin to describe such imbecilic behaviour!

I'll be contacting HMV to express my concerns and potentially pulling my custom.

Thumbs down

Had lots of problems with Yodel with a Blu-Ray from Zavvi. I received a DVD version instead of a Blu-Ray which I returned via Yodel, which got lost for a few days. Zavvi then sent another package which Yodel first lost, they then found it the next day but it lasted all of 10 minutes on the van, this was a Friday. It was eventually delivered on the following Tuesday, only problem was Zavvi had sent the dvd version for a second time. I returned this via Yodel for a refund, only problem was they lost the package and Zavvi has so far taken 15 days to refund me.

I have learnt two things from this; both Zavvi and Yodel are useless!

You must have one of the lowest posts per day ratio on this site

Sorry to hear about your troubles, i will be staying well clear of Zavvi then. Never used them before either.

That's HMV's problem rather than Yodel's but it'd be interesting to hear how HMV reacted.

Just an update. My second reorder has also went missing. I really would like to do a collect at store but they don't offer it. The price they have pulp fiction is crazy.

Oh well looks like I will give HMV a miss for a bit.

Seems to be a common complaint with HMV at the moment. Very bad.

Very slowly. Got several blu-rays in the usual cardboard case and then this morning I received a 4 CD compilation called "Clubland Eurodance" in a bubble-wrap envelope. Had no idea why I'd been sent it and then noticed the HMV sticker on it saying "Fish Called Wanda".

Cretins!

I see they announced another big loss yesterday. Can't see them being around much longer.

I got my order from Zavvi today. This was the order that I placed with HMV in the first place and it went missing twice. I then ordered the missing item with Zavvi.

I was in my local HMV store today and they have a far better range of bluray available. They have a nice deal of 5 for £30 or 3 for £20.

I made an order with Amazon. Their estimated delivery date was 14/1/13 but yestersay a found a Yodel card had been put through the door. There had been no knock and I was in all day before I discovered their card. I attempted to use their on line tracking service but that didn't work so I rang them this morning and got the mobile number for the guy who was delivering it. It turns out he attempted to it deliver again today and there's another card. He swears blind that he knocked both times. Again there was no knock that I could hear. How come I can her the Royal Mail delivery man every time but not the Yodel guy?

He must be a ninja!! Yodel are shockingly poor, you would think they got paid for not delivering parcels
