The pictures on Amazon UK show the same book packaging.

It's taken me a while to come round to this but I'm now quite interested. Am not usually attracted to box sets of ongoing series but this one being a 50th anniversary set means it can stand separate from any future films with much less irritation. I don't have any Bond on BD so far.

Wish I'd pre-ordered when HMV had their 20% off deal. Hopefully they'll do another before this is released.

Can anyone advise the best place to order this from to pretty much ensure I get it as early (or at very least on) release date for the best value ?

Im getting married on October the 28th and have 10 days of either side. Whilst the other half buggers about doing all the last minute stuff I plan on this being my end of single man days

Play will no doubt get it to you for release day, at one time I would have said HMV and Tesco Entertainment we're a dead cert but my recent orders from them have both arrived after release.

Amazon will occasionally send stuff early otherwise they will send on release date so assume a couple of days later.

Have you thought of ordering End Of Days instead?

I have nothing but hatred for Play, they are so unreliable for delivery.

If you want it on release day or soon after choose Amazon and next day delivery.

Should arrive at your house on release day.

I see 'Wal-Mart' are getting: DAF, Goldeneye, and Octopussy as single Exclusives on 2nd Oct, I guess individual releases in this Country won't be far off.......I hope.

Its possible but Walmart exclusives have remained US exclusives before.

The only way to guarantee is to go into a shop and bought it. I dread to think how much it will be in HMV.

Thinking about it too, can still get 10% of Sainsburys bringing it in at £79.19, £3.60/Bond

Haven't HMV started doing a "click and collect" service? So you could order it at the online price but pick it up in person on release day?

Now that sounds a good idea.
DO you pay online too ? or are you required to take payment into store ?

James Bond gets own Sky Movies channel | Media | guardian.co.uk

Hmm, anyone tempted to cancel their preorder if they're going to be on a loop for a while on a dedicated channel?

If the transfers are anything like The Thin Red Line Blu V Sky Atlantic HDs showing the other night, I'd keep your preorder!

I just saw this on another thread and think it's really daft to have a Bond film only channel. Also you don't know how good the quality will be and will it will almost certainly have some huge SKY BOND logo.

Absolutely not. Other than live sports, which look stunning, I haven't been impressed with the quality of Sky HD personally as everything seems to suffer from compression artifacts (very noticeable in dark scenes) and/or colour banding. Some are worse than others but movies seem to suffer the worse as they often look absolutely dreadful IMO and fall far short of a quality BD transfer. I remember seeing Twilight on one of the movie channel and gasping in horror at the lousy picture during a night time scene which was blocky and completely lacking in detail in the dark areas. I usually watch TV shows in HD on Sky then buy the BD boxset and enjoy them with superior picture/sound when they're released!

Cancel my pre-order and subscribe to Sky where I can only watch it for an ultimately limited time period and in worse picture quality? I think not.

Sky are actually pretty good with DOGs now (on their own channels at least) none still on the movie channels and on the regular channels it's only there for a few seconds after each ad break.

Sky are pretty good when it comes to showing Movies, (no DOG's, I wish MGM would follow suit) uncut, correct OAR, and no Ads, and they do show a lot of films in HD currently not available on Blu. Only down side is that they occasionally have 'talk over' during the end credits, hate that.

Shame they don't have a 'Coming Soon,' remember those ads from the 90's

Been waiting for OHMSS, The Spy Who Loved Me and Goldeneye for yonks. It's like they knew 3 of my favourite films and held back from letting me get them.

Does anyone know anything about the transfers? Are they the same as the 2006 DVDs? I was not massively happy with what was done with The Spy who, felt very blocky and lots of dark lines around objects.

Looks like we share some of the same favourites.

So far the HD transfers for the Bond films released on Blu-ray have been stunning.

The BDs are taken from the same masters that the DVDs used but the quality of the already released Bond BD's is fantastic and I expect the rest won't disappoint, getting all 22 films in a single set for less than £70 is a bargain in my book and I can't wait

jamiey's right, TSWLM has some nasty EE on the DVD, I hope they've sorted it for the Blu-ray. LALD had the super-hot DVD contrast toned down for the Blu-ray of that one, so there's hope yet.

Considering its not that long ago that I was sure I wouldn't be buying this, I'm actually really excited about it now. Watching the ultimate edition dvds on my new tv made me realise I have to make the upgrade. can't wait to see and hear these in hd.

These guys may have ordered when HMV/Sainsburys had 20% off.
Keep an eye out for discounts in the bargain section!

Holy moly, the BBFC have just passed the full uncut version of Casino Royale! Didn't see that coming. I would've been perfectly content with the regular 12 rated version in the boxset, but potentially having the uncut version is a massive bonus.

Title « British Board of Film Classification

It's been submitted by Fox as opposed to Sony, perhaps they wanted to stick to their newfound 'one for all' attitude to international releases (similar to Warners).
