Thanks for posting this good news! Sounds as though some of these are at a very early stage if they are appealing for help in tracking down material. However, I'm happy to wait if it means a better BD. These would hopefully translate to better sales and increased likelihood of even more Hammer appearing on the format.

At the very bottom of the article it lists The Reptile Slave Girls and for a moment I thought they've discovered some long lost and luridly titled Hammer film. Sometimes a comma makes all the difference.

Interesting choice of films, not exactly the most classic of films. Good to see one of Hammer's strangest films, The Lost Continent on the list. It never gets much love and doesn't even get its own chapter in the otherwise excellent book The Hammer Story. It has always been a favourite of mine and I think it's the most fun of Hammer's lost world type films.

I would love some massive Hammer Blu-ray box set when they are done.

The Lost Continent is a great film, just watched it again the other week - should be a good transfer I reckon!

The Mummy is my personal favourite and I think Hammer's is the best version. However, almost anything from Hammer with the likes of Cushing and Lee would be welcome.

Add another Hammer Blu-Ray to the list of available titles. I've just picked up a US Blu of "The Man Who Could Cheat Death" with Anton Diffring and Christopher Lee. The film is one half of a horror double bill on the same disc, the second being "The Skull", an Amicus production with Lee and Cushing.

It mentions that the new 'definitive' version of Dracula (the BFI restoration but with the extra footage recently found in Japan) will be showing in London on 18th February. Tickets not yet available but I'll certainly be going if I can get hold of some.

They're planning on restoring over 30 titles according to the blog

It has become a real favourite of mine since I got it and the transfer is fantastic. It's a very stylish film, an interesting mix of exploitation and art house film.

This could be off-topic (but might not be as it might be Hammer) and Im hoping someone will remember this.

Could be a film, could be an episode of something. Set and made in 1970s. A couple buy a house in the middle of English countryside (dream house). They buy some kind of voodoo doll and it starts doing weird stuff (as they do ). I know this sounds like any number of films but does it ring any bells with anyone? I think the male lead was fairly famous (maybe Ian Ogilvy? or someone who looks like that anyway). It could easily have been an episode of Tales from the Unexpected or something like that.

Any help much appreciated. Im sure someone here will recognised it (or something like it!)

That might be From Beyond the Grave which is a collection of 4 stories, Ian Ogilvy appears in the Fourtstory but the voodoo doll appears in the second one.

As you say, the IO story in that involves a 'haunted door'.

However, there is another story in the same film involving a voodoo doll (though not in a house in the middle of nowhere).

The OP might have confused the two stories?

Still, like most Amicus Portmanteau films, it's a real treat.

Is it 'Charlie Boy' an episode from Hammer House of Horror series? There are a lot of good stories in the series so worth a look for anyone that is interested...I remember a blu-ray release being mentioned a while ago too.

I had a quick look at Charlie Boy on IMDB and although it seems very familiar (and Im sure Ive seen it) I dont think its the one I mean. Theres another reference there to 'Trilogy of Terror' - the 3rd part seems like it could be the one too.

Well there must have been a few of these in the 70s because I checked both the above (I certainly remembered Charlie Boy) and its definitely neither of those! I remember lots of shots of the very large and modern (for that time) house over lots of surrounding fields and countryside. The house was certainly no ordinary house or farmhouse.

The first 'Trilogy of Terror' last story is a tale where Karen Black in her apartment with the voodoo doll running about with a dagger in its hand.
There's a sequel film and in it a sequel to that story where the doll is in a laboratory.
