Game of Thrones Season 1 (5th March 2012)

A few months off yet but Amazon have finally got this up for pre-order. They're offering an "exclusive" disc with the Blu-ray:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Game-Thrones...3379530&sr=8-2

No deleted scenes apparently as they used pretty much what they shot.

Play.com also have this but with a photo book instead of the extra disc:

Not bothered about the book myself and the wife has pre-ordered via Amazon anyway

Very intrigued to see the bonus disc is a Blu-ray, would have thought it would have been a DVD. Hum, very tempting although I do want the US set really as the packaging for HBO is always better in the States.

So for those who do like to import, these Best Buy exclusives are just gorgeous. Not sure which one to get personally.

I will be importing. Just wondering if it's too much to hope that they have the exclusive packaging, and the bonus disc. Either way, I'm having it.

Thinking the Stark cover.

They don't ship internationally - you would have to know someone with a US postal address to reship it or use a dropshipper. I haven't used one for years so can't recommend any. TBH I wish I did, there used to be few good ones I used that don't exist now.

Ah yeah, I admit I get it sent to a mate in the States.

If you're looking for a "trading buddy", using the forum on the bluray.com site is a good way to go. I trade my buddy mainly UK steelbooks, and he gets me things on Black Friday, and well this...

Works out well.

Ah right yeah figured it was gonna end up being something like that. Think some mates have relatives in the states. Will see if I can find some willing to help

I'd guess this set will be 60% odd slimmer case than the UK release like the Godfather? Will have to get the import I think

I always order American versions of HBO releases as the packaging when released over here is just always horrible, or just inconsistent season to season - True Blood in particular.

Does anyone know how long these Best Buy exclusives stick around for? I'm going over to the States in June, think these will still be on the shelves?

It really is just a case of keep your fingers crossed.

Example being Boardwalk Empire came out on Monday. My mate picked up mine (and his) yesterday, and he got the last two in the store. And it's a big store.

That said, House Season Six he still sees and that's nearly 18 months old.

Personally though, if I was going to hazard a guess with how popular this show is I wouldn't be feeling too confident (and likely how cheap it will be - $54.99 already and the price matching hasn't even started).

Deadwood wasn't (another HBO) title. But it's just dropped to $44.99 on Amazon, so I've pre-ordered it. Have a US PS3 if it is 'A' only.

Movietyme have it as region free on Facebook, no reason why the exclusives would be locked.

I watched the first two episodes on sky over Christmas and thought it was so good I stopped watching to wait for the blu-ray release - I'm pretty sure it will be a good blind buy!

I broke down and ordered the US version from movietyme to get it faster than my UK order - impulse buying can be a terrible thing

I want it, but not enough to drop £50 on it, when I know it'll sit unwatched for weeks.
Plus I'm not entirely keen on ordering anything that comes in non-standard packaging from Movietyme.

My copy of Rare Exports looked like it'd been used as a cushion.

Sainsbury's £29.99 will do fine.
