Not seen the film but spotted a really tempting embossed slip for 'Immortals' (didn't think much of the steelbook. Studio Canal's Dracula Prince of Darkness has a glossy foil-type (think Mimic/Next Three Days) slip. Probably pretty limited that one. Ides of March didn't have one and I couldn't find Contagion

Picked up a minty Game of Thrones:thumbsup (Stunning box)

Sorry no as I didn't buy any. Only got Game of Thrones although I imagine
most people have probably already received preorders of that one..Immortals
was total quality though with embossed lettering etc.

Game of Thrones : (it is a slipcover BTW not a slipbox - looks like it covers a digipack)?

Cheers Paul. Looks very nice. Think still going to plump for the US one.
Going to have to pick up Immortals. Quite enjoyed the film

Pics don't really do it justice. All the pattern on the spine and the 'frame' is finely embossed as is the silver lettering. (can't wait to open it after reading the pic/audio review assuming it's the same treatment as the US one)

Hi, re Game of Thrones apart from the packaging (annoying uk ratings logos) is there any difference with the US one?

(wish i'd bought Immortals now - was so tempted)

New release 'Anonymous' has a slipcover. Did not see slips for 'Rum Diary' or 'Ides Of March'.

Nearly picked up the Immortals today also - great looking slip IMO

I mentioned earlier that I saw Studio Canals Dracula Prince of Darkness slipcover today thought you may have seen it too? (Although I wasn't in Hmv)..

I didn't see slip on Ides Of March either.
wow thats a ripoff price for 'The Conformist'...but disappointed with pic quality tho...
Immortals is nice- damn hard to keep clean- super glossy.
Didn't look for Dracula might have a look tomorrow...I found 'Ides' a bit boring...if it doesn't have a slip I don't mind waiting for it to drop to 6 quid or something anyway in a few months...
No sign of 'Contagion'- girl said there was a delay as they had tons of the DVD- will check again tomorrow.

Is anyone else sick of the lottery that is online ordering.

My local Sainsbury's has a ton of "The Three Musketeers" with a 3D lenticular sleeve, but my pre-ordered copy from The Hut arrived with nothing.

Anybody tried returning an item to The Hut on the basis that a better offering (ie one with a slipcase) is available locally, albeit at a slightly higher price?

UPDATE: To answer my own question, The Hut won't supply a missing sleeve but have agreed to take the unwrapped item back and issue a refund.

I'm off topic here but whats going on with Warrior, i wasn't going to pick this up so soon but reviews and the slipcase are tempting me. Sometimes it has a slip and sometimes not so i dare not order it online in case it comes without. Found 2 with a slip in Asda today but the condition of them was not to my satisfaction and the rest were slipless. Morrisons had one with a slip but again condition was poor. Tesco slipless and £18.99 Sainsburys did have slips t'other week now none

They were everywhere at the start of the week but i've spotted a couple in Tesco without one. It's got foil content so is easily damaged in my experience although Morrisons slips always look about 2 years old. Fortunately I thought it was overrated so wasn't bothered about getting it. (I used to buy every slip just for the sake of it

I find the trick is to turn up on Monday when deliveries have just arrived and before they've had hundreds of grubby mitts pawing over them all week

I'd wait 'till Monday and check new deliveries although reckon you'd still get one online.

They were originally Hmv exclusives but now available everywhere. They do have slipcovers which I suppose are collectible (although I don't like them personally)

I think the original idea was a 'comic book' theme hence the artwork though I'm not sure how Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz falls into this category.
I think Play are releasing similar titles as steelbooks shortly. (Kick Ass/Hulk/Incredible Hulk etc)..

Tesco used to have quite a few good deals but lately I don't even bother looking due to
numbers/condition/PRICE

Provided I find one in mint condition I don't mind paying the extra. I bought Rise of the Apes last week from Asda (mint) First time I'd seen one undamaged after looking for 3 MONTHS

(just in time as they've released a single disc edition presumably without slip
last week which is for sale for the bargain price of £17.99 (hmv online)
looks sold out too believe it or not...

I'd wait 'till Monday and check new deliveries although reckon you'd still get one online.
I think some people have experienced hit and miss with the slipcase scenario when ordering online. It wasn't just the foil content (although nice equally annoying) on the 3 i saw today the corners were bashed in and indents on the slip. Ive heard more good things than bad about the film which has prompted me to want it and i thought i might as well get it with the slip. If i cant find a mint slip i will just wait for a price drop. Although i will take your advice and pop down early on Monday as i want Contagion with the slip.

My first favourite to collect is Steelbooks but if a film isn't available in that form i will look for a nice slip version. Although I've been disappointed with lack of a slip for some films for e.g Real Steel, Fright Night. If there are no special versions i will try and refrain from buying and wait for a price drop. Which is what i'm doing with the last 2 films i mentioned

Tesco prices have become shocking of late. Ive been in twice within a couple of days and the blu-ray chart section was almost bare, which is a poor show. But more worryingly who is paying those silly prices

My local Asda (Brighton Marina) had a good 6-10 these yesterday all fair-mint. Picked one up and we watched it last night - really enjoyed it and well worth a blind buy imo
