Just got my criterion haul through;

Blowout, world on wire, Rules for life, Paths of glory & Black Narcissus, also region A Notorious. I do wish there was a cheaper method of buying these lol, £152 for the lot. Ordered on Wednesday and it arrived on Friday though, so that is pretty good, and since amazon withold the duty / customs its pretty good.

Is fanny and alexander any good? I am thinking of getting that next.

I wait for the B&N 50% off Criterion sales before I buy a load of discs, and only buy the odd one here and there between the 2 sales each year.

This morning the postman delivered 'The man who could cheat death' and 'The skull' double feature BD from the US. Looking forward to seeing them, though am not expecting to have to pick my jaw up off the floor in terms of A/V as they haven't been restored at all. Still, they are on separate discs and at about £8 delivered I consider this set a good buy.

Just ordered this myself even though I resent paying full whack for new releases these days. That and the less than stellar criticism of the film almost made me hold off, but being a big fan of Hunter S. Thompson and Bruce Robinson's first two films, it had to be done.

Also in the post is Criterion's release of Godzilla

I was rather disappointed in The Rum Diary guys. It does have some fun scenes but most of the film bored me. I hope ya'all aren't too bummed out after ya spin it.

World on a Wire and Anatomy of Murder arrived on Saturday. Good that Amazon saw through the mis-price of $17.99 for both. Just need to find the time to watch them now.

Today the post brought me the excitement of Dracula: Prince of Darkness. However, this will have to wait a while due to the audio sync issue. Cock-up on the authoring front by StudioCanal!
Sent off my proof of purchase for replacement discs. Hope they will arrive before long.

Managed to find a cheap copy of the original Region A release of The Lookout, which is now OOP.

A blind-buy to be sure, but I've heard great things and refused to buy Echo Bridge's cropped re-release.

Top:Original Miramax release
Bottom: Echo Bridge release
