Is that the Digibook? Sure you'll find a few buyers if you do ;-)

Yes, in the US the Digibook is a Best Buy exclusive and costs $25 but it's available freely in Canada, it's $35 at amazon.ca

If you want a copy from a customs friendly site then bluraysforeveryone has it at $30 + shipping

But does it have French writing all over it? One reason I stopped buying import versions from Play.com.

I have no idea, it could have. If I was going to get it I would go with the Best Buy one from bluraysforeveryone just because they're customs friendly and the Canadian version is over the customs limit

Reason I went with Amazon Ca is because I could log in with my UK account. I may get hit with a customs charge but it won't be much and I'll let everyone know how the print is language wise.

The text inside will almost certainly be English - every digibook I've had from amazon.ca has been like that. There could be some French text on the back though a lot of them have had a seperate datasheet like a lot of steelbooks so it wasn't an issue.

The customs fees wouldn't bother me either - it's the Royal Mail £8 ransom fee that pees me off.

Just so you know if it does get hit by customs then they will want £12-13

Nice to see the Digibook has a glossy cover, much better than the matt ones.

Will be number 42 for me when it arrives!

Well well well, what can I say. Jaws on Blu Ray is Absolutely stunning, just stunning.

I have lost count of the amount of times I have seen this movie since I saw it for the first time on TV 31 years ago. I have grown up with the VHS, Laser Disc, DVD and I finally saw it at the cinema with my family a few months ago. But nothing in the world could have prepared me for what Universal Studios have done with this 37 year old movie. It's a stunning job to say the least.

There will always be one or two scenes that are soft in focus but even these scenes have new life and depth to them. The Rest of the movie looks like it was shot yesterday as a movie that's based in the 70s. I had to do a double take in most scenes as the movie just looks so clean and colorful, the depth to the picture is unreal.

Another area that has always been a dog with a bone area for me is the audio. I have always stuck with the original mono track on the DVD as I hated the remix, due to the whale sound edit, removal of the fog horns and the slurp of the Orca sinking. 99.9% of the Audio issues I had with the DVD 5.1 track have been rectified in this 7.1 mix for the Blu Ray and what we are left with is a kick ass assault on the senses. One scene nearly had me ducking for cover and that's the scene where the shark comes at the camera just after Quint hits it with the second barrel, the sound of momentum and crashing water just cuts from the front into the rear left speaker, Unreal!

The original whale cry is back, thank god? But the Orca still slurps when sinking lol.

The music is unreal, it's almost like you have all the dialog and sound effects locked to the usual speakers but with John Williams and the orchestra sat all around you beyond the walls in a big circle.

I'll shut up now as I know I can get a bit giddy when it comes to Jaws lol.

In the scene when the shark bumps the boat twice and you see the wood bursting my sub just about blew the windows out. Must admit I feel tempted to pop it on again and run it through my 7.1 headphones.

Indeed mate, that was loud.

Tell you what I did notice for the first time tonight, Hooper nearly gets an ass full of knife as he slides back from the gutted tiger shark!

Pictures up on HDN of the steelie and can you believe it as just got a plain white BACK no artwork whatsoever !!

I have just cancelled my steelie and will make do with the USA 42 page digibook which is lovely.
They could of at least put a nice picture of the Orca on the rear or the yellow barrels in the water.
Even as something as simple as the Amity no swimming sign in the sand on the beach ... lovely front and inside artwork and then **** it up with the rear being blank !
I just may buy it when it falls below £10 like scarface as every online retailer as got it and no exclusive .... what a shame it really is !

Some folks still aren't happy with the 7.1 mix, but if a Jaws superfreak like you can dig it, Quint, then it'll be good enough for me.

I'm not so crazy about it that I'm buying the US version, as my £12.80 HMV order for the UK one will suffice.

Morning Geoff.

I really did hate the DVD 5.1 mix with a passion mate. This mix is the same mix used on the recent cinema release, and wile I still have a couple of issues with it Universal have rectified my biggest issue which was the Whale Cry. You should hear the music, this is a big part of the new mix and it's awesome. I will watch Jaws again with the Mono track but I can't help feeling that the music may sound a little thin now.

I look forward to you thoughts mate.

What concerns me is things like the gunshots and the shark smashing its way into the boat, all of which are still said to sound very different from the mono mix. But like I said, if you yourself can overlook certain parts because of the overall effect of the mix, then I shouldn't have a problem.

I will be very very interested in your comments Geoff. The shark smashing into the cabin still sounds a bit off, I know a few people have commented on other forums about the shark roaring whilst it's head is in the cabin. Even on the mono mix I have always thought that this sound is the sharks back rubbing against the Orca window frame where the dorsal fin wont let it in any closer to Brody.

Gun shots are the same as the DVD 5.1 mix but they seem to fit better this time.

Get ready for the shark hammering the Orca in the night scenes, you'll love it

The sound effect for the shark breaking throw the Orca's window still sounds very anaemic compared to the original mono, as does the Orca sinking. Technically it's probably more realistic, but that's not always preferable.
