It's one of the 8 episodes with incorrect audio, I switched to DD2.0 on the affected episodes and they sounded fine.

I don't know if anyone cares at this point but I just noticed that on episode "Haven" on the 3rd disk at the scene change at around ~33min not only the 7.1 but also the stereo track go horribly out of phase.
So the problems are definitely not only on the 7.1 mixes.

Is there any centralized place where these problems can be reported that we know are monitored by the people producing these remasters?

I did notice that the stereo track went odd during Hazen as I had my amp mixing it into 5.1 and the dialogue suddenly shifted to my rear speakers so from that point onwards I just left it as untouched stereo and didn't experience any further issues.

The DD2.0 track is also out of sync on Farpoint but seeing as they are going to start shipping the corrected disc in less than a week I would hope they went through each disc thoroughly and fixed any and all issues, can't see them only fixing the issues reported by us net users and not checking the other audio tracks for errors.

Guess we will know either way in about 2 weeks.

I would have finished it on release week but it was just too damn hot to put on my TV and amp, have a pretty small room and it would have pushed the temperature into the 30s lol

The three-speaker dialogue problem occurs during Justice on disc 1 as well. It's only for a few seconds but the speech comes out of all three fronts when the male space hippy shows the crew into the main hall.

The show itself is settling down nicely at this point, though. The acting is less exciteable than the previous episodes and Picard's even done away with his faux American accent. You still can't escape The Great Perv Bird Of The Galaxy's penchant for liberal sexuality and booming disembodied voices holding the ship to ransom, but thankfully the show will grow out of it.

Justice is on disc 2 so it won't be fixed but I had read that even on the DVD that entrance into the hall sounded odd so it might be an inherent fault in the audio recording.

Now that we've all been alerted to audio problems on these disks, it's difficult not to be listening out for them!

As they say, if you go looking for trouble...

Also, let's not forget that the vast majority of people (not Forum members, of course!) won't notice anything is amiss.

I am sure the vast majority still listen to films through their TV speakers so yes I doubt many will notice the issue but for anyone with a 5.1 setup I don't see how they wouldn't notice something wrong as the effected episodes just sound weird.

Not a clue really, just got your details maybe. After that nothing needs saying really

As for Amazon im not sure what they would do anyway other than a replacement when they get new stock. I wouldnt do that as i wouldnt trust them replacing my slip case. This is best one ive had off them in years i only had to repair small part of it.

Maybe a statement of what actually happened and an apology to fans and customers ?

Going by other botched BD releases I wouldn't expect any further communication.

Mrs TG was completely oblivious to the problem whilst viewing in our 7.2 home cinema room, and that's after 44 years living with someone responsible for monitoring the entire beeb UK network!

And how many reviewers picked it up, until prompted?

Well on my setup it was very obvious but then my front speakers are less than 6ft from me with the rears even closer, going from an episode with the correct audio balance to one with the dialogue coming out of all the fronts was quite a difference.

As for the reviewers I doubt any of them watched more than a handful of episodes, hell over on digitalbits they admit they didn't watch any of the episodes prior to posting the review which seems a bit odd to me.

I've noticed them still selling the box set in shops. Not a bit dodgy? I know it's not the retailers fault, but maybe some stores haven't been informed. That in itself would be unusual though

Oh to have two subs :D doubt many reviewers would watch more than a handful and probably not the full episode. Normal people on YouTube videos maybe

Has there been an official manufacturer recall ? There would have to be one for the shops to send them back.

When I got to one of the affected eps (Haven) it instantly sounded fubar to me, and this is after I didn't notice anything wrong with Farpoint. I played the affected audio track on Haven through my TV speakers and it still sounded disastrously bad, so how people haven't noticed this problem (forum WAGs aside ) is beyond me.

????

I have watched all the discs and apart from the screwed up audio there isn't anything wrong, well apart from the missing phaser blast but that's not a disc issue thats a missing effect.
