It is a fantastic show, such a shame it cost too much to make any more. Glad they done a good job with the set. I think I will wait for it to come down a little bit more in price. The BoB set has shocked me at how cheap sets can go so lets hope this goes the same way!

Now if only HBO released Generation Kill and John Adams over here on blu!

You can get " Generation Kill " from amazon.co.uk for £43.66 ...

Generation Kill [Blu-ray] [2009] [US Import]: Amazon.co.uk: Alexander Skarsgård, James Ransone, Lee Tergesen, Jon Huertas, Stark Sands, Billy Lush, Jonah Lotan, Wilson Bethel, Pawel Szajda, Marc Menchaca, Rey Valentin, Kellan Lutz: DVD

It is imported from the USA but is listed as ' Region: All Regions ' and whilst it isn't cheap for a three disc set ... ' Number of discs: 3 ' .. it isn't hugely expensive.

Without doubt it is pricey and it will surely drop in price. But it is twice as long as BoB at 1263 mins approx as against 598 mins. It works out at less than £2.30 per episode ...which isn't too bad,but I won't be buying too many, per month, at that price.I'll order BoB and a few others, at the end of this month, when a new credit card period begins

Very true and a good point, but I just can't bring myself to pay early prices any more. These bargains have turned me into a right skinflint. Same goes for importing Generation Kill!

Yes, me too. I bought " The Prisoner " Blu Ray Box set the minute it came out ... well there had been so many delays in its release ... only to see it drop in price by £10 within a few weeks of release. I don't really regret being a first buyer of " The Prisoner " but in future I'm going to be a lot more cautious even though some Blu Rays - ' Kung Fu Panda ' comes to mind - do seem to stick at around about their release pricing level for a very long time.

I think of delayed purchase as being a way of nudging the Blu Ray industry toward lower price levels. Rather than an act of personal meanness it is an Heroic and Self Sacrificing Position in which I Occupy the Moral High Ground.

Any idea about the audio tracks that the boxset has? In the backcover of the box only says DTS HD English and subtitles English, French and German.

Are Ok or are they wrong those specifications? Thank you.

Can anyone confirm if this is Region-A friendly? There are a few people in the US who would prefer this version due to the plastic casing as opposed to the US casing...

What plastic casing? It's just a normal Blu-Ray case for each series packaged in a rather thin cardboard sleeve. Not a patch on the wooden boxes the cheaper DVD sets came in :-(

No idea about being Region-A friendly I'm afraid.

The US release is in a nice commemorative fold-out, but a lot of people would prefer to have regular Blu-ray cases...

I currently have the two DVD boxsets of this, both of which come in beautiful boxes. Is the blu transfer a big step up from the DVDs? Only willing to part with the cash and the nice DVD boxsets if it is a worthwhile improvement.

HBO seem really slow at getting some of their content onto Blu-ray. I have to admit I am hardly buying any Blu-ray discs at present but I would snap up certain HBO content in a second - Into The Storm and From Earth To The Moon (promised as a 'launch' HD DVD title) to name just two. It doesn't bode well for an early release of Pacific either.
