Hello folks,

I have the seasons 1-6 of 24 on DVD, and over the last couple of months have started watching them all again.

I want to catch up before season 8 starts, and I cannot decide if season 7 is worth getting on BD or DVD. I have bought all previous ones from ebay or CEX etc.

Anybody got the BD version and reckons the quality it is worth it over the DVD?

Really torn because I like all the boxes to look similar on the shef as well

Opinions welcome.....

It's not a show that really benefits from Blu-Ray and given the price difference I'd go with the DVD (as it happens, I didn't - my bad!)

I'd get it as cheap as possible. It was worse than season six IMO and that's saying something.

Well I was going to get it on blu-ray and then my brother got it on DVD so I borrowed it from him. Seems a bit silly getting the blu-ray when all the others that I have already (seasons 1-6) are on DVD of course.

Got to say, the DVD PQ is very good considering and Im not sure the blu-ray PQ is going to be that much better given the way 24 is filmed etc.

Oh and although im not quite at the end yet, Id say Season 7 is very strong - a lot better than Season 6 which was the worst (although I still liked it a lot!). One of the best seasons in fact. I dont think im the only one to think this if you read comments elsewhere.

I watched it first time round and thought season 7 wasnt that great.

Plot holes you could crash a 747 through.....

Got the rest on DVD and want them to match I think, so if its not WOW picture quality then I dont think Il get the BD version...

But then I wonder if i will miss something

(with one or two exceptions) Any TV stuff I buy is always on DVD. The quality is good and it's easy to convert episodes for a PSP or iPod, to watch on my way to work, using the DVDs! The price difference between the BD and DVD is 24 S7 is quite big too (DVD is $20 on Amazon.com at the moment).

I went for the DVD as it cost me just £12 delivered from Amazon.com. The BD was three times the price.

The blu ray does look & sound nice
But pick it up cheap in a S/H shop,dont think i would have paid full price for this

As to the PQ, yes it's miles better than the DVD and it looks great. Got it on rental and just started watching it.

Its worth watching redemption first as it builds some of the the characters.I personally thought it was a decent season, the BD was no great shakes as far as PQ but still worth watching if you can get it for a decent price.
