The Beatles On Blu-Ray?

Does any one know if any of the Beatles films are due for release on Blu-Ray?

Cheers
Barry.

Re: The Beatles On Blu-Ray?

How about amending your thread title to end it with a question mark?

I clicked on your post with great interest expecting you to tell me about some wonderful Beatles Blu-ray and I imagine that many other people will have done the same.

In answer to the question, I think you can get A Hard Day's Night from Canada, though it looks like a poor 1080i release:

A Hard Day's Night Blu-ray - John Lennon Paul McCartney

Re: The Beatles On Blu-Ray?

For me, the best extra they could place on the discs is a separate audio track.

Quite often different mixes - even potentially with a slightly different takes/dubs - were used in the films, particularly A Hard Day's Night.

Usually the songs are separate to any dialogue, etc, but there is occasionally conversation/sounds overlapping with the music.

I quite agree mate but i had the lucky oportunity quite a few years back to visit Abbey Road studios and heard some of the
masters fron the likes of Let It Be and i was blown away.

In particular i think Maxwells Silver Hammer and Get Back lifted from the Let It Be film sessions were outstanding.
If this could be applied to Blu-Ray WOW.

I've been to Abbey Road, too. I've 'recorded' there...well, it was a performance with a crowd and I was in the crowd.

I walked up the stairs and into to the mixing booth and heard a track being mixed - very exciting if you're a fan of The Beatles, or music in general.

id love to add to this debate, it seems a shame that arguebly one of the greatest bands of all time, havent got any blu-rays released as yet...(not including that canadian release!

i mean they still havent released let it be the movie or even the beatles cartoons officialy yet on dvd, let alone bluray (as far as i know)

i would love to see the anthology on blu as well ( i think the dvds are non anamorphic if i remember rightly) although the sound was good in dts.

i was dissapointed that the recently remastered cds werent hybrid which could have easily been done containing all the version in lpcm/superaudio/dvd a

it was such a shame..anyone who has heard love cd in dts or better still the tracks on the free making of dvd that accompanies the boxsets of the albums will know what im taking about. the difference is night and day, combine that with a well mastered bluray and im in heaven as they are my favorite band of all time (current location withstandin)..

the beatles were always innovators, and we doing things first and trying new methods and sounds constantly...so im sure they would love to join the hd revolution. i wish people who have the power to make this happen yes you mr mccartney, would get there fingers out!

not sure who holds the rights to the beatles movies these days

I was watching the "Magical Mystery Tour" on DVD a while back and it seems when it was first shown reviews were so bad that no one kept a master copy and thus all versions that remain are very poor.

"Help!", I imagine would look pretty good on BD.

I've never been inside, but I live just off Abbey Road and my bus always gets held up by tourists taking pics on the famous zebra crossing outside.

I would absolutely love to have Yellow Submarine on Blu, it's one of my favourite animation films. The DVD doesn't looks so great projected.
