Where can I see what soundtrack a disc has?

I need a site that lists what audio formats the blu-ray comes in.Namely, I want to know whether or not they have standard dolby 5.1 or dts.

Any sites that give this info?

Blimey, DTS seems as rare as hens teeth on blu-ray.

You'll find DTS becoming more common. I know Warner is switching to DTS now.

Re: Where can I see what soundtrack a disc has?

All Sony titles are coming out with DTS Master audio as the norm. That statement is from a Sony guy who was interviewed in a recent Home Cinema Choice mag.

They've dropped True HD.

Actually, most Fox, Universal and Disney BDs have DTS-HD audio, as do a lot of independents. TrueHD has tended to be Sony, Paramount and Warner.

Re: Where can I see what soundtrack a disc has?

I'm actually talking about normal DTS, not DTS-HD.

All the compressed audio seems to be bog standard dolby digital instead of DTS.

you ARE aware that the DTS HD-tracks by design always carry a (most of the time full bitrate) DTS track as core? the HD formats are mathematical extensions of a normal DTS track.
putting a separate legacy track on there would be utterly pointless.

Thanks for explaining this. I have just checked and when I play a DTS-HD disc, the DTS light on the reciever comes up, so all is well. I am getting the normal compressed DTS track over optical from PS3.

Thanks all

PCM ? This seems strange. It takes a lot of space without adding anything.

Re: Where can I see what soundtrack a disc has?

PCM is MANDATORY on the blu-ray specification. The other two, Dolby TrueHD and DTS MA are optional.

Not quite right.

It is mandatory for a Blu-Ray PLAYER to support Dolby Digital, DTS & PCM. It is only mandatory for a Blu-Ray disc to have one of these tracks on the disc. So it's not mandatory to have PCM on the disc (if there is already a Dolby Digital or DTS track on the disc).

If the disc already has TrueHD & DTS-MA, you don't have to have a PCM track (which can be very large). This is what confused88's point was
