Tesco Entertainment's new site

Tesco seem to have ditched their white-label entertainment site powered by The Hut. They've got a new one which integrates their music & video download services.

I can't speak of the shopping experience yet (I've just made an order), but I don't particularly like the design. It's quite unlike most other entertainment sites with a very distinct design. The content is quite lacking. A lot of products don't have images nor descriptions, let alone technical details.

I'm interested to see how quick their despatch and shipping is.

It would seem that service is very poor, I have ordered 5 dvd's, as their prices were very good, but they have sat in the awaiting despatch for over a week now, all are released items, but bizarrely their site did stat at the time 4-5 days for despatch, but now the same titles say 24 hrs, even so mine still not gone, tried contacting them via email, but their site say the max wording is 2,500 character, and despite my message being only 350, it refuses to send, under their old site the service was pretty good, under this version it appears to be pretty poor to say the least.

They have had some issues since starting up.

The have also had a few missprices which they seem to be honouring. The preorders get out quite quickly, certainly for release date if not a bit earlier. You cannot at the moment cancel any orders from within your order history.

Anyway, Im sure they will sort themselves out given time, it can only be a good thing having more competition out there so I hope they do well.

More 500 point clubcard offers too please I hope!

I've experienced the same issues, too. While my first order went swimmingly, my second order has been stuck in 'Awaiting Dispatch' mode for over a week.

I phoned them once and it wasn't picked up. The second call lead to a woman promising to ring back; but she's not yet done so. Calling them isn't cheap, either, with an 0845 number.

I don't think I'll be rushing back to Tesco Entertainment.
