Colin

I've done some searching and couldn't find a single thread on Colin, the (reportedly) £45 Zombie movie.
I bought it on DVD from Asda for £6.71 this week and watched it last night. I thought it was a great movie. If you watch it just think back to Blair Witch which had a budget of some $22,000 and something like Rec which had a budget of over $1million and it really does make you wonder.

Highly recommended watch IMO

Re: Colin

For a no-budget film it was quite good, but I thought it was way too long. The fact that this wasn't shot professionally is often a debit, especially in the many night scenes where you can barely make anything out. The scene in the cellar would have been tremendously effective if it hadn't looked so murky. Still, it's often surprisingly atmospheric and the director obviously has talent.

It's nothing like [Rec], where despite the fake documentary style, you can see where the budget went (professional actors, an actual screenplay, expert lighting, full body make up effects, sets, etc)

Re: Colin

lol..well I thought it was genius for £45.
I just hope people buy it rather than d/l it so the studios give this guy a budget to make something else.

As for [Rec], I use that in a loose term because it's a limited location, small amount of actors and a similar genre.

I agree, for £45 (which I don't believe is entirely true when taking post production into account) it was genius.

I had a look on Imdb and it looks like the director has a film in production. I'm certainly curious to see what he can do with an actual budget.

Re: Colin

yeah, the whole £45 thing has to be questionable. I'm sure I read somewhere he said the most expensive cost was buying the crowbar

Re: Colin

I watched the film because some of it was shot in my building right next to my flat. I'm on the committee of our Tenants and Residents Association and everybody who uses our estate as a location (a popular location for many film and TV shoots) has to pay us a fee, which he dodged. Maybe once he's rich and famous we'll send him a bill, that sould drive up the budget by another £200.
