Watched X-Men 2 this morning - great flick and a near reference Blu-ray disc. Picture and audio are stunning and there are more extras than you can shake a stick at - well worth the £4.49 I paid for it!

Re: Tonight/Last Night my HD viewing is/was... Part 3 (Please read first post).

Watched "Taken" last night. Liam Neeson playing the hard man !! Not bad, some serious butt-kicking going on, that I never put Neeson down for before, as an action man!

PQ was very good, 8 / 10. AQ was DTS - MA but really didn't notice anything special, in fact the fight scenes had a lack of thump to the punches...maybe it was intentional to be more realistic?

Isn't the Bluray supposed to be the "Harder" edition? If so there wasn't that much blood and gore. Lots of fights, punches, kicks, bulletss.....etc, but no real blood splattering!!

Not so much last night (as they tend to be spent with the wife) but today I managed to watch 3 episodes of Band of Brothers and the box set arrived today.

Forgot just how great this series was since I haven't watched it since it was on BBC Two.

Really looking forward now too 'The Pacific'.

Yesterday's HD viewing with the other half was Pinocchio (which was fantastic) and Bourne Identity (also excellent quality). Probably watch some more of Season 1 of Lost tonight since the other half is out and has no intention of watching it.

Just finished watching Assembly. What a fantastic film. One of the best war films ever. The PQ and SQ is probably better than Band of Brothers.

I don't mind a good film being in its native language with me having to read subtitles!

Following the X-Men theme, I watched Wolverine last night and thought it was pretty good. I can't understand all the poor reviews, tbh.

PQ was top notch, although a few of the scenes from distance did look a tad soft at times, but overall a solid transfer. As for the audio, this is another disc to add to the demo material pile, it sounded sensational.... It's a good job I have a high tolerance for noise.

Movie - 6.5/10
PQ - 8/10
Audio - 9/10

Hmmm id say your missus has good taste then!

The only film with Jack Black where I didnt despise him was King Kong - he was OK in that.

Three Kingdoms - maybe not in the same league as House of Flying Daggers or Hero it was none the less a top film.

PQ 7 AQ 8

Totally agree, I watched this last night and really enjoyed it. PQ and AQ were top notch, and I got a DVD copy and Digital Copy with my purchase from HMV.

Not half as bad as some made out.

Just watched Host. Very enjoyable film. SQ not amazing due to heavy pronounced bass thump of monster's feet - didn't integrate at all.

PQ is very good and the film itself quite funny and certainly watchable.

Re: Tonight/Last Night my HD viewing is/was... Part 3 (Please read first post).

Well ive been putting this one off for a while but gave in last night...

Matrix Revolutions.

Got to admit, this seems better to me now. Maybe its the excellent PQ, maybe not, but the film just seemed better now. There are still holes of course but it definitely kept me watching. Not quite as exciting as Reloaded but it didnt have the big lull before the action that Reloaded did. I was looking out for the glitch that some people have noticed, not sure if I saw it or not, one scene seemed to pause a tiny bit - a bit like a very small dvd layer-change - but it was hardly noticeable - picture didnt break up I know that.

Monica Bellucci in tight red leather might have added to the score a bit! (even though she has nothing to do in this one really - unfortunately!)

Film 7.5/10
PQ 9/10 (noticed loads of detail compared to dvd)
AQ 9/10

Re: Tonight/Last Night my HD viewing is/was... Part 3 (Please read first post).

Watched 'Elektra' last night (not everybody's taste, I know), and thoroughly enjoyed it. Really interesting film with some amazing imagery.
If you want to watch a 10 out 10 blu ray for both picture and sound then this is certainly one of them.
The picture was so clear and vivid and the DTS Master Audio was at the very top of the tree. I really did marvel at this top rate transfer.
It must have been good because the wife even made rave comments about the picture AND sound!!

Is Elektra the Director's Cut? Even if the cover doesn't mention it, could you post the full running time? Not from the cover obviously, as Fox keep putting the PAL DVD running time on their BDs. Thanks.

Just checked my disc and just ran it through and the end running time (to the end of the credits) finishes at 1hr.39min & 50 secs.
Hope this helps

Watched Drag Me To Hell, Weekend, good to watch a film again after gorging on TV Blu's -- good little, old school horror, loved the old Universal logo used at the beginning

Fantastic A/V quality as well

Just watched New York Ripper, Not seen it in years. Typical trashy Fulci flick, Not nearly as graphic as I remember it. PQ is nice though. Hope we get Zombi or The Beyond next.

Just watched Three burials of Melquiades Estrada. Very enjoyable film.
PQ is very good as is SQ though it's mainly dialogue. Plus it contains the lovely January Jones......

I would highly recommend it.

Watched 'From Hell' this afternoon. Very enjoyable story - I like the whole conspiracy concept.

PQ was good but not amazing, SQ was very good.
