Lovefilm sheath protected blu-ray discs and the PS3?

I just recently signed up for lovefilm and had my first blu-ray delivered from them - unfortunately it comes in a 'see-through sheath' to protect the disc, but it seems that this prevents my PS3 from reading the disc. Has anyone encountered similar problems or is it just a problem with this particular disc?

I only got one like it once and I pulled it off when it didn't work with mt PS3. I stuck it back on when I sent it back.

Well I must admit I hadn't looked at it that closely and I assumed it enveloped the whole disc - came off easy as anything and now works perfectly. Cheers!

Not just the PS3, I haven't found any player that works with the protective layer on.

I've just had a BD from Lovefilm with one of these covers on.

It's tacky and lose and in short: no way am I putting that in my player!

Re: Lovefilm sheath protected blu-ray discs and the PS3?

I had one the other day(blu-ray),I did not notice at first as my cinema room is fairly dark so just popped it in and it would not play it just spat it out.

I then noticed the jacket and peeled it off, once I watched the movie I put the jacket back on and returned the film.

Surely these jackets are only for protecting the film during transit and handling the disc in and out of the envelope the films are sent in.

I can't imagine any player playing the discs with the jacket on.I would have thought lovefilm would have advised what they do and what to do with them though.
