is MovieTyme - Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom DVD - Action/Adventure the uncut version of this film? Are all R1 releases of this film uncut?

Only the UK version has ever been cut.

Everywhere else in the world its the uncut version.

Apparently Spielberg prefers the UK edit but luckily he's not done an E.T. on it yet

Ahh interesting. I heard from a review on Amazon that BBFC offered to release it as a 15 uncut but he refused that. Didn't know he preferred the UK version. Odd indeed.

That's one of the craziest things I've ever heard.

What is?

That the BBFC offered an uncut 15?

That Spielberg refused?

That he prefers the UK edit?

I think he's softened up over the years since he had kids.
That was the excuse he gave over the ridiculous changes to E.T. when he removed the guns and rendered one of the exciting scenes near the end to a "so what " status

Am I right in saying that the main cut was the ripping out of the heart?

There were lots of lttle cuts throughout the film but that was the main one.

The shots of the hand going inside the chest were missing IIRC (while since I last saw it).
I think the shot of the chest closing is still in the UK one

When one of the sacrifices is lowered into the pit there are sound edits to reduce screams, there are less intense shots of the man on the platform as it gets further down.

One use of the word "b*****d" was cut - I think it was around the point where Short Round gets whipped - which was also cut.
