thats just great. dvdworldusa have both listed as multi region, and I ordered them. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit... its on their web site, and I just phoned them and they are saying that they are definitely region free, and that they have tested them. I dont doubt roughneck's movietyme, but this is now very confusing. I guess I can return for refund with the invoice printed as it states multiregion on the receipt email.

I e-mailed libalex this a.m and got a quick reply from them saying they were wrongly listed on site as Region A/B Australia and that they would have stock of Region A US tomorrow.

I think Movietyme have it right- region locked (A)they are usually spot on with region coded blu's, will have to wait for UK release now then.
Have just looked at Dvdworldusa aswell, they look convincing too stating region free!!

I've no idea how international film distrubution works, but could it be because Universal & Fox distribute Gladiator & Braveheart (respectively) overseas? These are quite big catalogue titles and perhaps those studios don't want Paramount US eating into their markets?

Phew!! Dodged that bullet. Paramount don't have the distribution rights to either of these films outside the US, so that might be the,(incredibly ghey), reason for locking them. Capitalist scum!

By the way Dvdworldusa just sent me an email asking me to contact them regarding my order for gladiator and braveheart.
So I called them and it turns out they wanted to check whether I could playback the discs as they are region A locked.

Anyway its no probs for me but I just thought I'd let ya'll know.
