Good (free) program to convert .vob to .avi

Good (free) program to convert .vob to .avi
Hi,

My PC's too old (and I can't afford) for a DVD-writer. So I'm after a good program, ideally free which can convert .vob file to .avi.

Would be good if it could do other formats etc. .Xvid, .Flv and .MPEG1 to .MPEg4, but a single one to convert to .avi would be acceptable.
