Dragonball Z Remastered Season Dvd Boxsets

I wanted to get the Dragonball Z Remastered Season Boxsets from the US but I need to confirm if they'll work on R2 players like my PS3. On some sites it says Region 1 only and others say R1,2,4.. If anybody has these in the UK have you check the discs on a R2 machine?

Re: Dragonball Z Remastered Season Dvd Boxsets

If your importing from the US then they will be Region 1 only (My original series discs were R1 only)

However I think these also see release in Australia & if so then they will most liekly be R2 & R4.

Might be worth checking the obvious sites like DVD Crave for Australia release & also DVD Boxoffice for the US release

Obviously R1 discs wont play on standard PS3 or UK players.

Hopefully that will help??

Tempting to buy just for the power level episode
Only if it is cheap enough, though...

Thanx 4 the replies I ordered S1 from DVDPacific as they're fantastically cheap!
I'll get the rest of the Seasons later.

Hi, sorry I know it's a year on, well 2 technically but Im interested in buying the remastered DVDs also and can only find us imports on amazon and eBay which all say region 1. Was wondering if DVD pacifics copies worked on Your DVD player or your ps3 and if you think the amazon us imports are the same as DVD pacifics.
Thanks

So you're asking if Funimation asked the factory to press a special region free set for DVDpacific, & then to also press a region 1 set for Amazon?

Will the DVD's I buy from HMV be different from the DVD's I buy in Tescos?

Tahme,

DVD Pacific's titles will be the same as Amazon - namely Region 1 US titles! Australia has sets available, but they are Region 4 only. As such, unless you have access to a mutiregional DVD player, or region-free DVD drive, the discs are highly unlikely to work in your PS3 or DVD player!!!

The 'remastered' set (ie orange box set) is actually region 1, 2 & 4 so will work fine in the UK (check the reviews on Amazon Amazon.co.uk: Customer Reviews: DragonBall Z: Season One (REGION 1) (NTSC) [DVD] [US Import])

Not just the sets from DVDpacific, but from ANY shop in the USA

Hi Hippo,

If that set works on Region 1, 2 or 4, then it can't be region-encoded at all, and is presumably Region Free! Very odd decision for a company like FUNImation who normally like to keep their titles exclusive to the country's they're released in! Still, to the OP, best of luck in getting the set, and fingers crossed it'll play in your machine/PS3.

I was surprised as well as I've been buying Funimation's One Piece releases & they're all locked as region 1.

But looking at the back covers, you can just about make out that it says region 1, 2 & 4 on the boxes (Look at the box at the bottom that says TVPG. 2 boxes left of that has region 1, 2 & 4)
