So I might order 3 copies of something again but wouldnt want to be stopped from doing so!
the ghostbusters is available everywhere though, i cant see it selling out, none of the wave steels have except IM1 and IM2, but then people wouldnt be buying mega amounts. the GB steel is £8.99 at sainsburys so buy them there and save some pennies.

im actually suprised Hunger Games and Avengers HMV Exclusive steels have not sold out yet - you would think people would be all over them. i ordered more than one of each expecting them to sell out, but there you go, avengers was £12.79 after discount and yet it still didnt get big sales?

trying to get back on track - i saw an unbox of the iron man 1 and 2 steels on ebay (crazy man right?) and the inner artwork was wrong - iron man 2 in iron man and vice versa.

didnt we just get emails to say the artwork had changed? and i was led to believe they were switching them to make them right - so did they not bother, or are there some with the right inner artwork and some with the wrong?

the problem is what percentage are even going to open their copies?
Play.com emailed everyone to say that they or Scanavo mixed up the inside art. They accidentally swapped the inside art and by the time they realised it was too late, they had already been produced.

oh i see i thought the email was to say they would be switching, not that they screwed the pooch.

i dont think it matters to many though.

Soon as you click the line on IM2 it goes straight to the £40 seller, not to Play's £14.99 so I assume it's not available.

Not that I was looking mind. Made the mistake once with IM2 buying the DE Steelbook for around £25. Having subsequently watched the film elsewhere (total pants), I was glad to recently trade my Steelbook for a half decent film.

I can understand IM1 selling out (half decent film, fab looking Steelbook) and values rocketing but can't see that happening long term for IM2.

I wouldnt get steels from sainsburys given the packaging they use! Not worth the fuss.

I got a total of FIVE steelbooks over the week: Bourne Trilogy, Serenity, The Thing plus Iron Man and Iron Man 2.

The Iron Man steelbooks really put the Universal ones to shame IMO and are as desirable as hell IMO and lovely to look at. What a shame then that both these "collectibles" are minus the second extras discs of the original release. It's not so bad for the first movie as the disc contains no disc number but the sequel's single disc says Disc 1 on it making it look as if a disc is missing.

Why, oh why, do publishers release steelbooks, which are clearly designed to appeal to movie collectors, but omit the extras? That means that I have to keep the originals as well which I was hoping I wouldn't have to.

Anyone's Iron Man not arrived yet ?.
I've had 2 blu ray steelbooks from different suppliers and a dvd from Amazon go missing in the space of 3 weeks and had to get refunds for all of them. Not sure if there is something funny going on or I've just had bad luck with them.

ive had plenty and never had any damage. i think their is a myth that sending a steelbook in a jiffy bag makes it bad. if it has plenty of bubble wrap inside then its well protected.

also sainsburys are always cheapest.

If it is the DC, I would assume it would say on the front, as it does for the Amarays, and that this is the theatrical version. I'll be waiting for more details and hoping to be pleasantly surprised. Otherwise I'll not be ordering this one.

it wont be the DC, it would have said so by now. you should know better than to think play would give you anything other than old discs that cant be sold unless its in a steel tin these days.

also top man? is that the owner of top cat

as for the artwork, i prefer the german covers for transformers and top gun, and watchmen is slightly better.

I would bloody love it if it was mate .... it's a MPEG 2 video and **** Dolby Digital 5.1 , can't see them remastering the disc for a £10.99 steelie.
Same old **** that needs a new master , cancelled mine as already own the **** version.

Saving Private Ryan steelbook on its way from Play.com today... really looking forward to this one as I was really impressed with the quality of the two Iron Man steelbooks I got last week.

There are simply too many steelbooks due for release though at the moment. I was browsing through Play.com BD Coming Soon section and stumbled across nine I wasn't even aware of (Clash of the Titans, Inception, Blade Runner, Troy, Seven, The Last Samuari, etc, etc.) and naturally, being as weak-willed as I am, I had to pre-order them all. I'm hoping I see sense and cancel a few of them as at £18 they are expensive, especially as I already own the standard versions. I think steelbook collecting may just have become an addiction for me as I cannot stand to miss out on one which I own in standard case! What can I do to cure it?!?!
