Sarah Ferguson ? Isn't that the fat ginger bint who Prince Andrew married ? This HMV clown sounds just as stupid.
"Dear Ms Sarah, I don't want you to apply the 20 % discount twice - DOH! I want you to apply the 20 % discount to the new price you are currently charging , not the old one.
You are the ones who changed the price and boast about your price promise - not me !

Just saw the UK bluray steelbook here at HMV in Dublin. It's a nice steelbook, not a stickerbook. Contains the Bluray + DVD and according to back cover includes Cast & Crew Interviews and Making Of. Not sure if it has the Director's Commentary which is on the US disc. Be interested to know if UK release is a BD50 or BD25 as the US release is a BD25.

thats not good then if they are charging people £14 when the emails says £9.20 - i shall have another word with them and double check i did pay only £9.20 - they did say that number not me.

oh and no, not had the steelbook today, hopfully it comes on monday, on release date in a box.

im starting to get sick and tired of hmv. they cant compare to play or amazon for customer services or decent packaging. the sooner play get all the exclusives the better.

Nope, I got her rude cursory dismissive letter and I wrote back pointing out that we weren't asking for the 20 % discount to be applied twice but simply applied to the new lower price they were charging.
No reply since then as she obviously knows she was wrong and has no intention of admitting her mistake. Obviosuly just hoping we all forget about it.

I suggest as many of us as possible ocntact HMV howeever you like to complaina bout the attitude and rudenss of Sarah Ferguson. She can't be allowed tog et away with this - treating us like muck.

It's not the money (which is peanuts) , it's the principle and the rude and incorrect way she has handled it.

Ms Ferguson was conspicuous by her absence from this email.

You see it as a victory that HMV did what they said they would in their terms and conditions? I emailed them weeks ago and they sorted it for me no problem. That's the benefit of anticipation rather than waiting until you were charged and then going 'hang on I didn't get my discount'.

Plus you keep going on about this Sarah Ferguson. Who says that she's even a real person or not multiple people? In my opinion the names at the bottom of emails are ******** made up to make you think that someone is actually dealing with your problem.

You obviously haven't read this thread have you ?
I'm pleased for you that you got it sorted out no problem but as I already stated in this thread (along with others ) Wedid wait but were then charged the original £ 14.00 to our credit cards and then received emails from HMV after querying this stating they would not be honouring the price drop at £ 12.00 due to the 20 % discount offer they had in place
Read the thread.

I have read the thread. It's been you ranting about a non-existent woman and a few others noting that they had receive a similar reply. The truth is that had you simply emailed them a couple of weeks ago, you would've avoided having to post your farcical rants.

rawdonwhite and blueboy 1971 - they are both ranting about a non existent woman called Sarah Ferguson as well are they ? they are also lying and fantasising about receiving emails from her as you seem to be ranting and claiming in youre farcical illogical post ?
I don't know how to put it any clearer to you so that you understand.

we did email HMV to query the price change a week ago and received emails back from Sarah Ferguson that have been posted here by 3 different members confirming that we would NOT be getting the refund - just how many times does that fact have to be posted in this thread by how many different members before you undertsand ?

The fact is you got replies from someone working in HMV customer service. Do you really think that they would use real names? I hope they don't otherwise I have a feeling you'll be paying this woman a visit for not refunding a couple of quid

I don't doubt the fact that other members received similar replies, I just find your posts hilarious to read.

no offence toby but i wasn't ranting about this mate - just wanted to ensure that they honoured their pre-order guarantee. not bothered by the £ 1.60 (in fact i have just re-spent it with them) it was just the principle.

hmv are refunding the difference - just received an email (it's only a nominal amount, but as said before, it was a point of principal and am more than happy to keep my business with them)

wondering now if the original email was mis-read or if i had not explained clearly enough (easily done) - but hats off to HMV for sorting things out. will follow snooloui's lead and send a message BEFORE dispatch in future

"Dear mr xxxxxx,

Thank you for contacting hmv.

We have requested the following action against your order number 3288xxxx.

A refund will be processed to your card within the next 48 hours, totalling £1.60, in lieu of our pre-order guarantee. Please note that your card issuer can take up to 7 days to process this back onto your card.

If you require further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us at hmv.

Thank you for your patience and please accept my apologies for any disappointment caused.

Kind regards,

Online Customer Service Team
www.hmv.com"

now just looking forward to receiving this

im just going to ring them when open tomorrow (what decent customer service takes the entire weekend off?) and will ask them if they did charge me the £9.20 stated in the despatch email.

it seems if people are getting £1.60 refunded then that is off the £11.20 price? you see with me it seemed they took the 20% off the £14 price and then took £2 off after, to make it £9.20 and not £9.60 as it should be.

in either case ill be happy to have it for under a tenner now its a confirmed double play steelbook and not sticker book.

I was charged £9.60, reduction then 20% discount. I'm guessing it's the right way to do it. Don't you have online banking Replicant? I wouldn't phone them as they could say 'oh yeh we made a mistake'.

I called them last week when I got despatch email- they refunded the £1.60 without any hassle.

I remember when Play bashing was all the rage, then they won back the hearts of uptight forum members by getting those lovely padded boxes... Now HMV bashing is all the rage...

I really miss what this forum was like a few years ago, when we actually discussed the steelbooks- the artwork, where to get them from, setting up group buys etc.... Now it's just moaning and endless posts about poor service and bad packaging. Shame.

My apologies for the rants , you're right I should stick to the facts instead of yapping so much on what it is not relevant.

It was rawdonwhite and blueboy1971 who posted their emails from Sarah Ferguson in this thread as well, before I even received mine from her - are you saying all 3 of us made up the same name at customer services ?

I just don't know why you find that so hard to believe when it happened to at least 3 of us. There is no conspiracy here

I can believe it, I just don't think it warrants column inches- just ring them and you'll get the £1.60 refunded!

Now, has anyone got a picture of this yet?

I'm not saying that your emails were not signed with this woman's name, I'm saying that this woman most likely does not exist and you are ranting about someone who isn't real.

As for whether there are any pictures, I don't think there are. Only a handful of people seem to have received there's and none are willing to open them up. Hopefully we'll see some pictures tomorrow. I'm hoping that my copy comes and if no-one is forthcoming with pics, i'll be sure to upload some

Yep same here which means another release that will be late which means it's coming in a grey bag again.

It seems it's a money saver but on tin items you can't be chucking it in a plastic bag. This seems to be the TNT packaging.

I think if it does turn up like that we all need to call them and ask to speak to management because nothing should be delivered in a bag unless it's clothing.

It's unfair as hmv have some massive exclusives like hunger games and avengers and if half their stock is dented on arrival then it's a waste of money to them.

I don't think it will arrive in a bag. I think they were only used as a jumbo steelbook is too big for their boxes.

i have some bad news....everything is coming in bags for the rest of the month

i got off the phone with a very helpful lad, firstly he confirmed i was charged £9.20 (so 20% off then reduction, so everyone is being charged differently) then he informed me the grey bags are a temporary issue as their warehouse has recently moved and so bags are all they have, but they expect to have all their printing and packaging equipment so they can use boxes by the end of the month.

also the jumbo is too big for their normal boxes, but hmv have lots of different sized boxes for blurays, cds, boxsets etc so the jumbo could have fit in one meant for a dvd boxset, they just dont have the facilities.

luckily the next hmv exclusive steelbook is the hunger games on september 3rd so by then they will have boxes - but even if you buy a regular bluray apparently it will come in a bag. also since its being sent via TNT but RM still deliver its taking an extra day, hence why everything turns up a day late.

oh and another thing - unlike last week when i rang about the dark knight steel and they had 500+ left, they told me today they have around 50 copies of rampart in stock.

so ive gone and ordered another one since its only £12 - if the one comes tomorrow with no issues by some miracle, i can always cancel this one or return it but if not then i have a second chance, because if i waited and then returned it, then the odds are they would have no stock left to replace it with.

actually if i were anyone on here that has access to a local hmv, id buy it from there for £12, at least it should be mint and you can check it.

Thanks for that. I can also confirm they are sending steelbooks out in Jiffy Bags.
I received 2 on Saturday : - Priest in a jiffy bag , badly dented and King Of New York which survived the trip in one piece lol.
