well after trying to make my mind up for a little while I decided to open one of my delivery

Wish I hadn't though as on the back there are lots of scratches, two of which have gone straight through and you can see the metal

Now I am in two minds as to whether to open the rest of my steelbooks and just enjoy them for what they are or keep every single one sealed

Every one I open seems to be marked

I ordered 300 and Shaun of the Dead steels, what a surprise, Nathan gets hit with imports...AGAIN!!! I have the worst luck ever! £6.79!!! Robbing !

Oh well, at least I can enjoy them. Shaun of the Dead seems to be absolutely mint except for one tiny dust spec of missing paint, hardly noticeable, and it's on the back so not too bad. 300 is worse though, a fair bit of paint missing on the side, and a scratch on the spine. The spines seem to get scratched a lot on steelbooks, I don't know if it is just me? Thing is, is that this damage was under the cellophane, so it must have happened on the factory floor prior to shrink wrapping?

Dang that sucks, sorry to hear, I have noticed this on alot of steels, the back corners especially are scratched or loss of paint UNDERNEATH the shrinkwrap, I have returned tons of those, Kill Bill's had lots of them, scratches underneath the shrink..

I opened up Expendables the other night to watch, cool movie, nuff said. What sucks is that like Steve, I open my Steelbook and look what I find underneath the back that was not visible with my OCD eye even looking directly from the top and back I could not see this till I opened it. This is what I was talking about Futureshop mishandling these while they shove them in the racks, then slamming them on the de-magnetizer, its hard to get 50% mint copies..

This is all too true, everyone needs a job but common leave these people for scientific experiments please lol jk.., Don't even try and ask an employee to do math in his head or know any useful info.. I hate when I kindly ask the cashier to be careful when I am buying 5 steelbooks at a time ($200), and he/she whoever all of them look at me like I am crazy and like children they do the opposite (its an overpriced movie who cares? I hate you for spending my weekly paycheck in 1 transaction they are thinking..) and intentionality smash it on the demagnetizer (they flip it right side up, upside down slide it back and forth like f***).. Now everytime I ask kindly and they smash or scratch disrespectfully, I take it out of the bag, throw it in the bargain bin and get a new one from the shelf,, I think I am helping futureshop to train their employee's and save on damage cause they are starting to learn. The more they damage, the less they sell, the more mess I make for the prlcks.. for every 5 people they hire that could care less, they could save money and pay 2 professionals who could run circles around the 5 and solve problems much quicker.

Now that I think about it I wish I never had to visit futureshop in my life again I would pay for that privilege. If I could order this stuff online I would pay a large premium honestly. Amazon.ca don't go through the demagnetizer or get price tagged/mishandled.. I just reread this, what an upset rant that was lol sorry..

I will be posting your 2 tomorrow my friend hope you will be watching it mid next week

Damn cardboard wraparound... bane of my life....

Q: How many empty slots are in the BatB case? Just so I know whether to buy the single BR disc, the double play or the triple play. Also when you guys buy the standard releases to swap the discs in, do you then throw the plastic cases away or do you keep them? Thanks

Glad they arrived okay.

BatB has 3 disc holders (2 BD, 1 DVD - there's a 2 disc flippy thing - picture below), and AFAIK you can only but the DoublePlay at the moment, anywhere. I keep my cases, but that's because I own both the standard and SteelBook releases (Disney) when possible. If you don't want them, you may as well keep the plastic case as a replacement and pass on the slipcover to someone in the classifieds.

I assume it's this one: 10,000bc German Blu Ray Steelbook Factory Sealed on eBay (end time 26-Nov-10 19:45:24 GMT)

Good price. I've seen them sell for £20-£30 used.

I was looking at those IM statues but they are so expensive and so small.., which one did you get how much was it?

Great price on the 10,000bc btw. read the auction over, doesnt seem to care about listing its condition? other then being factory sealed of course.. Either way, no doubt you will be happy in the end with that
