How can I make a US panny bd35 DVD region free?

Hi, I want to make my US DMP-BD35 dvd region free. BD region free would be nice, but not necessary. I'm not willing to buy a $600 modded version. I already know of the Harmony remote hack for UK and EU players, but thats not supposed to work for US ones. How can I unlock my US player?
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks
