Shadow Raiders, like Transformers, takes the kids’ toy concept and realises it in animated form, only this time employing CGI to do the trick. Unfortunately, after eight years it just does not look impressive anymore – and without the flashy visuals, there is little else of substance to sustain your interest. The video and audio presentations are solid but the extras are disappointing and this release has got to be recommended to avid fans of the series only. Anybody else interested should start with season 1 and even then consider a rental first to test the waters.
