Overnight/The Boondock Saints DVD Review

The Boondock Saints

This is a love/hate film. I originally hated it but on my second viewing found it more watchable, although it is still not really my cup of tea, atleast now I can see why some love this movie and have made it into a bit of a cult hit. I can see the potential here and hope that a sequel builds on the best bits.

Overnight

However you view Duffy or The Boondock Saints, you will find this documentary captivating. Watching an arrogant, foul-mouthed bully get his comeuppance makes fascinating viewing. However, many may not want to watch 80 minutes of a foul mouthed bully in the first place, downward spiral or not. I'm not sure of the repeat viewing potential here and as a DVD package it doesn't offer much. Unless you are a real fan (or Duffy hater!), I would say this is one for rental or wait till it is shown on TV.
