Panasonic HS2 & DVD-RAM media - does it take caddy or non-caddy discs???

Well, finally taken the plung for the Panasonic HS2, and it should be with me tomorrow...

Now all I need is some media, so before I buy the wrong type in my lunch hour tomorrow, can someone advise me if the HS2 uses the caddy type or the disc only tupe DVD-RAM?

Thanks in advance...

Thanks also to everyone who posted replies/comments on my other threads asking about the machine - I'd like to especially thank Rasczak for ALL the help with deciding on this one!

- better still; can anyone recommend an online or High Street supplier for branded media at a reasonable (read: cheap!) cost?

Not sure about the HS2 but I've just got the E100 and it takes both caddy and none caddy ram disks, I would think that the HS2 should be the same.

Caddied or non caddied work fine.

Cheapest I ever found were at the Panasonic online store.

DVD-R (Maxell) can be got for £1.49 in amaray cases at Richer Sounds using the WHF voucher.

That'll be What Hi-Fi...

Is it item/quantity specific? ie Could I get just one disc at that price per voucher?

Don't buy too many DVD-RAMs yet! I suggest one or two only as you'll primarily only use them as an 'overspill' for the HDD. Odds are you'll follow the trend of other HS2 users and mainly use DVD-Rs.

Thanks; I'd already figured the same!

But since it's due to arrive tomorrow, I wanted at least one RAM disc in hand for my evening of trialing the editing of HDD recordings...

With any luck you'll get at least one free with the machine. I did.

Any Panasonic DVD recorder, including the E50, takes caddied or caddyless disks.

Yep you could. But why waste a voucher on £1.49 per disc when you can have 20 for under £30! You're going to need them remember!
