The conventional setup is to feed sky into the secondary scart of the DVDR and another scart to the TV.

Using all fully wired scarts and everything set to RGB [ and deriving the feed from the TV socket of sky as this is the only socket producing RGB.]

Then when you record from the internal tuner of the DVDR you can watch sky by forcing scart pass-through by pressing the channel Up button on the machine itself.

It is not possible to record sky and access the tuner of the DVDR at the same time.
In that circumstance you are limited to watching whatever tuner your TV has.
