Sony RDR HXD970 & WMA Music Compatability

I'm looking to buy the HXD970 recorder but have one quick question.
Can this unit play/store WMA as well as MP3 format?
I have stuff in a mixture of both formats and as far as I can see Sony's site only makes reference to MP3 so I'm wondering would I have to convert anything from WMA over to MP3 ?

Cheers to anyone who can shed some light on this.

There is no mention of WMA files in the manual, I'm afraid.
