Samsung DVD-VR320 recording vhs tapes to DVD copy protection

We have the Samsung DVD-VR320 used to record all our vhs tapes (both copy and NONcopy protected). The problem is the recorded DVD 's can only be played back through the Samsung DVD-VR320 dvd drive.
I have tried viewing in many dvd players and also on two PC's.
Is there any way which we can overcome this, as our Son always likes to take several of his Thomas tank videos on holidays, down nana's etc.
