best budget dvd recorder?

My brothers looking for one for his christmas and he's not really a big av fan (in a picky way like me ) so i'm just looking for the best recorder for £100. Doesn't have to be anything fancy as its only going to be used for recording from sky/sky+ and only "must have" was that it had to also be able to play his other region dvds. Thanks for any replys

For £100.00 you won't go far wrong with this panasonic dvd recorder, which were very highly regarded when they were new, but has now been replaced by the drm es-15, and records to all major disc formats exluding +rw, and is really easy to use and set up (I have one myself).

Hope this helps,

On that note, I doubt that Panasonic will be multiregion but I am certain you can get multi region "handsets" to make it multi region for about £20.00-£30.00, or have it chipped for a small fee by any good retailer such as sevenoaks sound and vision or audio-t.
